The East Anglia region

Hockwold is in the heart of The Brecks, a landscape of tranquil forest, open heathland and agricultural land, where human inhabitation can be traced back to Neolithic man at the nearby flint mines of Grimes Graves.

The nearby Thetford Forest is the largest lowland pine forest in Britain, and has miles of marked walking and cycling routes.

The shopping towns of Kings Lynn and Bury St Edmunds are about 40 minutes drive away, and include many boutique style shops along with familiar High Street names. Norwich and Cambridge are both an hour away, and provide great shopping facilities as well as historical landmarks.

The closest beach is 45 minutes away, and most of the North Norfolk resorts are little more than an hour away.

"Ok, but not more than that..."

This cottage was just ok. The garden was lovely but the cottage itself was not what we were expecting as per the description and the price. The owner was away while we were there but said if we needed… More

I am sorry that the cottage did not live up to your expectations.
We do advertise ourselves as being in a secluded area, an hour from Norwich and Cambridge. The rural mobile phone reception is patchy, and the Wi-Fi works better on laptops than some mobile phones.
We are looking into the problem with the shower as it had not been reported before.
At £470 for a week in August, we feel our prices are very competitive.

"Lovely cottage in a peaceful location"

We have stayed at both Blueblue Cottage and Willow Holt several times and each time has been a delight. Both cottages are well equiped and comfortable, situated down a peaceful lane with very little traffic, you really feel like you are away from everything. I have visited with two young boys who love the garden, especially climbing the trees!

The owner does a wonderful job to make you feel welcome with milk in the fridge and the best flapjack you have ever tasted!

Highly recommended if you are looking for a cosy cottage in a location away from it all.
