No 27 is in Guisborough, a quaint market town on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park, 6 miles to the sea.
1st floor apartment with fully equipped kitchen, comfy king size bed, TV, WiFi, dishwasher and washing machine/tumble-dryer. There are twin sofa beds in the living room.
We are a 5 minute walk to the town centre, 10 minutes to Gisborough Hall. Situated over my business Physioplus+ premises with a separate entrance at the rear overlooking a very quiet car park. You are welcome!
No 27 offers a central location in this small market town on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Milk, sugar, tea, coffee and toiletries are provided, along with all linens and towels. A sun-trap balcony overlooks the car park with outside seating opening from the kitchen with an adjacent newly refurbished bathroom with bath and shower over. No 27 is fully double glazed with storage heating and has additional heating supplied from designer electric heaters in living room and bedroom with a further kitchen plinth heater.
In case you don’t have time for the washer/dryer at No 27 there is a launderette just around the corner with facilities for additional washing/drying. A drying rack is available to use in front of the storage heaters in winter, or out on the balcony when the weather allows!
No 27 is accessed from it’s own private door at the back of Physioplus+ business premises at Redcar Road [go onto Walkers Row, and onto the car-park]. For weekend visitors, car parking directly behind the apartment is free from 6pm Friday evening until 8am Monday morning. If your stay extends beyond the weekend we provide a parking permit for use on nearby streets.
Before Brexit, most years, I have worked in Rhodes, Greece, in an ambulance (called Ambience) converted into a mobile physiotherapy clinic - usually from May to October. This means that if you arrive in these time periods, you will be asked to use the key safe at the front door. At No 27, I leave comprehensive written instructions and advice sheets, but feel free to ask anything else you would like to know. This information is also on my website and is available when you have reserved No 27. My co-hosts and cleaners do their work between guests. We aim to make every guest stay enjoyable. Thanks for booking!
There is a cosy ’locals’ pub 3 doors away and the town centre is a 5 minute stroll from the door to all amenities with many pubs, shops, supermarkets and eateries/restaurants/takeaways. The outdoor market is held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on the cobbled section of the main street. There is a forest above Guisborough, which leads eventually up to the moors, and we are on the Cleveland Way if you are a keen walker – literally within a few hundred yards. Guisborough is the ancient capital of Cleveland in North Yorkshire, the home of the De Brus family, and houses the ruins of the Gisborough Priory & Gardens less than 400 yards away (closed Nov-March). Gisborough Hall [the spelling changed sometime in ancient history] is now a hotel & restaurant with a well recommended spa if you fancy being pampered. It also hosts weddings, and a lot of our guests stay with us because they are attending one! It is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride away. If you are staying mid-week, we can always treat your aches and pains at Physioplus+ my physiotherapy practice beneath the apartment ... but make an appointment before you get here as we are very busy usually. Telephone between 9am and 12 noon weekdays to make an appointment. We are 6 miles from the sea-side at Saltburn-by-the-sea and Redcar if you fancy a change from the hills around Guisborough forest and the moorlands. Great walking country, with easy access to the pretty coastal villages of Staithes and Whitby. There is also a pretty good local bus service to get you to the coast. We recommend taking the bus to Whitby, or using the Park and Ride service just outside if you are driving, which is clearly signed, as parking gets very busy at high season and school holidays.
The nearest major town is Middlesbrough where there is a main railway station. You can get to Guisborough by bus. I think the X93 is the easiest - it runs hourly from Middlesbrough bus station to Whitby/Scarborough, stopping at Guisborough en-route, and takes about 45 minutes. Alternatively, take a train from Middlesbrough to Redcar and take a taxi or catch a bus from there. Information on bus journeys can be found at Arriva’s website. Your nearest bus stop would be Guisborough Marketplace, about a 5 minute walk from No 27. The properties closest airports are Durham (MME) Airport which is 15.3 miles away. Other nearby airports include Newcastle (NCL) (43.7 miles), Leeds Bradford (LBA) (52.3 miles)
No 27 has a steep staircase ..
We have accommodated babies previously and are able to provide a travel cot with bedding and high chair on request. 1 well behaved, non-furniture chewing pet is welcome ... but please let
