Me and my partner visited for the weekend. The Granary is simply unique. We loved the mezzanine, spa bath and skylights. It was really warm and cosy for the winter nights. The windows all look out over beautiful countryside and is well positioned to be close to the owners but feel secluded and private too. The option of dinner (cooked by owner Mandy) and ready and waiting to heat up upon arrival was delicious and such a great service after a long journey! It was a little hard to find on a dark night but that was all part of the fun! We will definitely be returning.
Thank you so much for writing such a positive review. We are very pleased you enjoyed staying at the Granary and also that you liked your meal. We look forward to welcoming you back again one day.

"Cosy and perfectly located."
A wonderful few days stay in this fantastic cottage. It's super cosy, quaint and spotlessly clean. Perfectly located in the Forest of Dean and close to some fabulous walks in nearby villages just a short drive away. Beautiful view across the forest from the balcony and some great wildlife too! All in all a fantastic trip, highly recommend this place!!

It was great to have you stay in the Granary and we are thrilled you had such a good time. Please come and see us again one day.

"Best holiday we've ever had!"
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Granary after spotting it on trip advisor whilst looking for somewhere in the Forest of Dean and I am so happy we stayed here. I was amazed by how beautiful the surroundings where on the drive up to the Granary and we fell in love with the Granary itself, David welcomed us upon our arrival and both him and Mandy were there whenever we needed them, whether it was for tomato sauce for our breakfasts as we forgot ours or a pub recommendation! I cannot fault our stay at the Granary, we will definitely return at some point in the future! :)
Thank you so much for your positive review. We are very happy that you had such a good time and would love to welcome you back in the future.

"Super relaxing and extremely pretty"
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time away for his birthday weekend. The cottage is really nicely done, we loved the bed area and the balcony and the spa bath is a real treat after a long day. The hosts were wonderful, we ordered dinner for when we got there which was delicious and they provided us with lots of information about nice pubs and places to visit. We will be returning!
Thank you so much for your positive comments. We are very pleased you had such a good time. We would love to see you here again in the future.

"Lovely little hideaway in the country"
A cosy cottage with truly individual character. The decked balcony provided stunning views across the fields and, despite its size, The Granary has a full size spa bath to relax in after many a forest walk. The owners live next door but didn't bother us at all unless we needed them. They even gave us fresh eggs from the resident chickens.
Our springer spaniel was also welcome, which for us was a real bonus.
Thank you very much for your very positive comments. We are very pleased you had a good time, and saw the forest in all its glory. We look forward to welcoming you back sometime in the future.

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Many and her friendly cat and shown to the warm cosy cottage which was a great welcome on such a cold and rainy day after a long drive from London. The area is very peaceful and serene with lovely views of the fields and hills. David and Mandy Lloyd were very helpful with answering any questions we had with regards to directions and things to do in the area. We'll definitely be back!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are delighted you felt welcome and were able to relax before returning to work. We would be happy for you to come again; you would qualify for a 'returners discount' if you did.

"Peaceful and Unique"
We stayed at the The Granary for a long birthday weekend and were both very taken with the charming building. Beautiful surroundings which we were grateful to be able to take in fully once the sun came out. Very unique cottage / annex, but well presented and with a cracking balcony to enjoy the view.
Lovely, welcoming and really helpful hosts made for a very enjoyable weekend all round.
Thank you for taking the time to review the Granary. We are delighted you had such a good time.

"A wonderful nugget in the midst of a forest.."
I stayed at the Granary for four days, really enjoyed the quaint cottage and its surrounding landscapes. Cosy and looked after me well during the storms. Hosts are wonderful, friendly and not intrusive at all. Pet friendly and everything well thought out in a beautiful part of the forest. Can't wait to return when the roses are blooming.
Thank you for taking the time to review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and wish to return.

"Lovely cottage in a beautiful location"
Me and my girlfriend was travelling through Gloucester, and stumbled upon this cottage through holidaylettings. It turned out to be the best stay of our two week trip.
The setting of the cottage is very beautiful and out of the way from everything except nature. There are footpaths into the forest of Dean, and if you want to there is a pub within walking distance over the fields. However, we did not leave the cottage at all, after a week of hiking it was heaven just to hang out in the garden behind the cottage and eat good food.
The cottage has all the amenities you need, with a full kitchen and a very nice bath tub.
The only negative is that the skylight in over the sleeping loft can make it quite bright in the mornings, and that we had some trouble with the internet when we were there.
The hosts Mandy and David are lovely and were very helpful. We arrived much later than expected, and had no food or any options to get some. Mandy helped us out from her own kitchen, which saved our night!
We only stayed three nights, but already when we left we were planning our next visit. Highly recommended!
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in the Granary and thank you for your wonderful comments. With regards to the small issues you raised we now plan to install a blind in the Granary so that our visitors can choose to star gaze or block out the early morning sun. We would love to see you again if you are in the area; don't forget you qualify for a 10% discount!
