Squirrel Lodge is a pine scented slice of heaven in the beautiful Forest of Dean. The lodge is well equipped and situated overlooking a meadow and has direct walks into the forest and onto the Bream Heritage Walk highlighting Iron and coal mining activities around the local area.

It also provides easy access into the heart of the forest, an absolute haven for fun seekers with one of the UK’s best cycle trails and downhill mountain bike course, along with abseiling, caving and canoeing at Symonds Yat. For keen walkers a wealth of forest trails that will guide you through the forest, take in the sculpture trail or simply take a lazy stroll along the river Wye.

Just 2 miles away you can find the spectacular Clearwell Caves, have a fun filled day at Perrygrove Railway or explore the enchanted Puzzlewood, where scenes from Harry Potter, Dr Who and Star Wars (to name but a few) were filmed.

The lodge is perfectly situated with 3 Village Inns that serve a wide variety of delicious and traditional dishes all under 1 mile away and the Market Town of Coleford just under 2 miles away.

Within Squirrel Lodge you will find a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living room with bi-folding doors opening onto the decking area outside and access to the Hot Tub, seating area and BBQ which is sat with views to the forest where you can dine al-fresco. If your lucky you may catch a glimpse of Deer, Pheasants, Squirrels and an array of birds and wildlife. In the kitchen you will find everything you need for your stay including electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and a welcome pack.

There are 3 clean and comfortable bedrooms, the master with En-suite. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and bedroom 3 has a single bed with a travel cot.

Bedlinen and towels are included for your convenience. There is underfloor heating throughout and free WIFI and Netflix.

Bookings are 3, 4, 7 and 14 night stays.

Well Behaved dogs are very welcome.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Kelly (the owner) a message.

If Kelly (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
