Further details indoors

Great Burrow Cottage was listed in the Sunday Times "50 Coolest Cottages in Britain and Ireland" Jan'09 and has since had great press from most of the broad sheets. See our web site for more Press.

It comfortably sleeps 6.

The hot water and heating is from a very efficient geo-thermal ground loop heat exchange system, keeping the cottage at a constant temperature no matter what the weather. We also have a woodburner to make things extra enticing in the autumn and winter.

Beautifully converted with oak and slate floors, it has a master double bedroom and a loft bedroom with 3 single beds, one of which converts to a double bed.

The large partly wooded garden has two big wildlife ponds and a firepit with far reaching views and great walks directly from the cottage. Our local pub is about a 40 min wonderful muddy walk through streams and valleys. We have free ranging chickens and ducks too!

The public is able to roam freely on its 369 square miles of unenclosed, open moorland, with around 600 miles of public rights of way. Dartmoor is a rich habitat for wildlife and has a wealth of archaeological remains, myths and legends. The cottage has guide books on some of the best walks.

You can find great walks directly from the cottage, taking in streams, forests and valleys many with beautiful far-reaching views of Dartmoor and even Bodmin moor. Many more walks can be found at the Discover Dartmoor website.
