The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Winter lasts for almost half the year in Bansko. Nestled among the greenery in the shadow of ice-capped Mt Vihren, the highest peak in the Pirin range Bansko marries state of the art ski lifts and a well planned ski area with the older quarters, a maze of cobbled lanes where timber-framed stone houses hide behind thick walls, built to withstand siege. Recently discovered by the foreign skiers and tourists, but well known in Bulgaria, Bansko is not only the all new ski resort but is also a beautiful historic spot.
Situated in South-Western Bulgaria at the foot hills of the Pirin range, this beautiful alpine region offers the intrigue of its ancient town together with providing superb winter sports facilities for both novice and expert.
South of Bansko is the Pirin National Park, which is listed in the UN list of National Parks and Reservations. The park covers over 27,400 ha and is famous for its lakes, waterfalls, caves, century-old trees and historic sites.
This all year round resort is a wonderland of nature, which offers not only perfect ski-ing in winter, and a multitude of wild flowers in spring, but also a network of trails offers superb hiking and mountain biking throughout the summer months.

Bansko / Bansko Royal Towers area
The newest Bulgarian winter resort, recently discovered by the foreign tourists, Bansko provides an interesting combination between the virgin nature of Pirin Mountain and the atmosphere of the ancient Bulgarian small town. Tucked away in the foot of Pirin Mountain the town of Bansko is a mesmerizing place for Bulgarian and foreign tourists all year round. Equally attractive during all four seasons, the town offers a variety of conditions for recreation and repose. The impressive sceneries, unique nature, originally glamorous settlements with their distinctive culture make Pirin Mountain one of the most attractive places for the tourists. Peak of Vihren is known among the tourists as the peak of the storms. It is the highest peak of the Pirin Mountain (2914 m) and the third highest on Balkan Peninsula. Seen from north Vihren looks like a truncated pyramid with an impressive vertical wall 420 m high in the foot of which lies the perpetual blanket of snow.

Coach from Sofia central bus station to Bansko costs approximately 5 euros and takes around 3 hours.

Further details indoors: The 40m2 apartment is situated on the first floor of block 2 in the “Bansko Royal Towers “ which is serviced by a lift. The interior of the high quality apartment which was completed in September 2007 is well-equipped and has an attractive finish, it also benefits from a direct view across to the main gondola station.
Living area: The well-planned lounge has a comfortable seating and dining area for 4 people, also a fitted kitchenette. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard and is equipped with a 26” LCD TV, DVD player. The window by the sofa area has wonderful views across to the Pirin Mountains and main gondola station.
Sleeping: The sofa bed is very comfortable, easily converts to a standard double bed. There are quality pillows and duvet, which is stored within the blanket box.
The two single beds are specifically designed to slot together as a double, or split as singles, with sufficient height to store suitcases underneath.
Kitchen: The well-equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer, a two ring halogen hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and a full range of kitchenware, to create a quick snack or gourmet meal.
Shower room: The shower room has a luxury Italian shower, wc, washbasin and large heated chrome towel rail.
Ski/Snowboard Storage: free of charge place in the ski depot for ski and snowboard equipment for 2 adults and 1 child which is located within the same block as the apartment but on the ground floor ski shop.
Heating: The apartment is equipped with central heating.
