About the home

Casa Amendoeira is a pretty two bedroomed air conditioned villa with maid service set amongst orange lemon and olive trees on the small privately owned Quinta da Saudade estate of 24 acres with views over farmland towards the sea. It is ideal for family holidays as there are several long sandy beaches nearby as well as sandy coves with rock pools to explore. There are a good choice of Beach Bar/Restaurants which serve freshly caught fish cooked on the BBQ

Zoo Marine and a Water Splash Park are a few minutes drive away and Salgados Golf Course is within walking distance where we have arranged special discounts for clients. There is also a wetlands nature reserve nearby with many species of birdsand unusual plants making it ideal for bird watching.

The fishing towns of Albufeira and Armacao de Pera are about 10 minutes drive away with plenty of shops, markets and nightlife. Closer to the Quinta is Guia which has many inexpensive restaurants and chicken piri-piri is a speciality. Algarve Shopping Centre with numerous shops, cinema and bowling alley is a short drive away

The Quinta has two swimming pools,a children's play area with paddling pool, tennis court, horse riding, and a pool bar which serves lunches and holds weekly BBQ's in the summer.

Fernando our on site Manager and his assistant Alice are always available in the office should you require help or information.

The terrace which has views to the sea has a table and chairs as well as sun loungers, parasol and a built in BBQ.

There are two swimming pools one on the upper level which is approximately 30 metres from the villa which is surrounded by exotic flowers and gardens, and a larger pool which has a shallow area for children.
There is also a children's play area with a paddling pool, table tennis adjacent to the pool bar and Petanque as well as crazy golf. There is a paddock with Stables and horseriding is available for the experienced rider or lessons for children on ponies. The tennis court can be booked in advance at the office.

Conditions

We require a 25% deposit and the balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure, November - March gas,electricity and logs are charged as extra. We give a 20% discount for a four week rental and 30% for eight weeks.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve, located in the south of Portugal, offer ideal features for a great holiday, plenty of sunshine, golden sandy beaches with good value bars & restaurants. Travel inland away from the Algarve beaches and you will find rustic countryside and towns such as Loule with its bustling market that have remained unchanged . Travel further inland to Monchique and Caldas de Monchique which is renowned for its thermal spas.

It also offers places of historic interest like the castles of Paderne & Castro Marim, the Palace in Estoi, the Roman bridge & castle in Silves. Visit Portimao and have a sardine lunch on the quay. Cape St. Vincent is the most south-westerly town of Europe with an imposing lighthouse.

The Albufeira / Vale de Parra area

Guia is centrally placed to explore the rest of the Algarve. Albufeira is the nearest big town (10 min.drive) it is very busy with lots of bars,restaurants,nightclubs etc.

There are many beaches nearby some with watersports & jet ski. Between Guia and Pera you will find Zoo Marine with artic shows where you can swim with the dolphins .Krazy world just outside Algoz has 2 big mini golf courses, zoo with reptiles, petting farm, big pool area with bar & restaurant etc. Slide & Splash Waterpark is about a ten minute drive away. There are numerous Boat trips offering grotto tours, champagne cruises, big game fishing, dolphin watching which depart daily from Albufeira Marina.

The famous Porches Pottery is one of the few traditional potteries where you can see the pottery being made and hand painted, there is also a bar/restaurant where you can sit under the pergola covered in bougainvillea and have a delightful lunch.

Algarve Shopping Centre on the EN125 going towards Albefeira is the largest shopping centre in the region with numerous shops, restaurants, bowling alley and a multi screen cinema.

There are many golf courses on the Algarve but Salgados Golf Course is a few minutes walk away from the villa and we have arranged a generous discount if booked through the Quinta office.

The neares airport to Casa Amendoeira is Faro which is approximately a 30 minute drive away. When you book the villa we will give you detailed instructions of how to get there. We can also highly recommend a car hire company for you to use. Taxis are readily available from Faro Airport and the charge is between 35 and 40 Euros.
