“Beautiful location, beautiful Villa” We went to Venice for a 4 day break in May and stayed at Villa San Toma. The owners, Thomas and Sherril are very friendly, hospitable and made us very welcome. As our Italian is very basic, it was an added bonus that Sherril is English speaking. She recommended places to visit and provides excellent advice regarding what to do and see in Venice and the Veneto mainland. Their Villa is furnished to an exceptionally high standard, is very clean and luxurious. The accommodation is first rate, I can honestly say I had the most comfortable cosy bed, better than any hotel I have ever stayed in – bar none! The Villa is set in a beautiful tranquil location but is within easy driving distance of Venice in one direction and Lido de Jesolo in the other , or you can take the train in just 20 minutes to the centre of Venice . A trip to Treviso, which is only 20 mins drive away, is also a must. The surrounding countryside is perfect for exploring on bicycle should you wish to chill out and take it easy. We also made use of the nearby luxurious 5 star Relais & Chateaux Villa Foscarini swimming pool for an afternoon. Venice is an expensive place to visit, but staying at this Villa was excellent value for money. It is the best of both worlds because, after spending your day exploring the surrounding region, it was nice to return to Villa San Toma relax, maybe have a BBQ and chill in this home from home.
