From the owner

Classic Tuscan villa in the gracious hill town of Barga, a lively center of the arts with celebrated jazz and opera festivals, extraordinary restaurants, cafes and shops. The villa is set in a private compound, surrounded by an enormous terrace and walled garden planted in grapes, herbs, olives and fruit trees, with stunning views over the Lucca countryside and the marble Apuan Alps.

Old Barga is largely a pedestrian town with steep narrow streets little changed since medieval days. All roads seem to lead to the impressive cathedral at the top of the hill. Vicolo Del Duomo is located very close to the cathedral with which it shares fantastic views.

Inside, Vicolo del Duomo's terrace level offers a spacious living area with terracotta floors, divided into a comfortably appointed living room, kitchen and dining room. A full bathroom is located to the rear. The second story of the house offers three bedrooms, (two double-bedded, one twin) and a second bathroom. All of the rooms have wood parquet floors, and much of the furnishing is in antique local chestnut.

Equipment includes a laundry room, a fully-outfitted kitchen with stainless steel range (five high-power gas burners and electric convection oven), dining service, ironing facilities, towels and linens.

A separate 16th century Annex and 800-year-old Medieval convent with four-meter-high arched windows is also part of the property. For parties of up to eight, 2-3 additional guests can be accommodated in a large room/ suite with separate wc in the Corridor room. This has two single beds and 2 single sofa beds and a large internet TV. The TV only receives internet channels.

There is a one bedroom owner's apartment adjacent which we use occasionally.....if so.....we may meet in the garden :-)

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Michael (the owner) a message.

If Michael (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
