“Absolute gem!” This was our second stay at this fabulous house after spending two weeks of our honeymoon here last year - still the best holiday home we've ever stayed at.
The house is in excellent order - large rooms, very well equipped with every home comfort needed and plenty of space to spread out. Out of all the places we've stayed at over the years, it's definitely the one that always feels like a home from home rather than an impersonal rental. By far the best feature is the outdoor space where a completely private garden includes a large swimming pool and poolside patio - it's a superb sun trap and place to enjoy both fun during the day, and al fresco dining in the evening.
The location is excellent; the village is beautiful with a couple of good restaurants, local shop, bank and friendly people. Close by are some great local vineyards, chateaux and places to visit.
The hosts are the perfect combination of helpful yet unobtrusive, close by but only when needed.
We can't recommend this property highly enough for couples and families.
“A wonderful week with some lovely people” Painting, fishing, visiting places of interest, including nearby towns and vinyards were all facilitated by our hosts who put themselves to a great deal of trouble to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. The outstanding grounds hosted nightingales and orchids, coypu and some splendid coarse fishing.
The accommodation was of a very high standard and eating 'en famile' with other guests and our hosts was a delightful way to round off each day.
A great place to be for an active holiday break or just to lounge around!
With two children aged 8 and 10 and booking last minute we were restricted for choice. We were lucky to find this house in a little french village, one church, one cafe a market place and 10 steps to the little corner shop and boulangerie. The real joy in the summer heat was having a lake a mile or so away, definately driving (too far to walk with children and all the beach kit!) but it was clean, not too busy, and perfect place to cool down. Also if you paid to go for the day you could come and go as you pleased. The house itself has been really tastefully decorated with all amenities and we had a very pleasant week there. Parking really is easy in the area. …
Le Manoir de Gurson - set in 98 acres, with private pool
A great place for my first visit to the Dordogne area.
Friendly service from arrival to departure - nothing was too much trouble. Good sized well furnished bedroom with plenty of drawer and hanging space, a comfortable bed and the quiet location guaranteed a good night's sleep. Good sized shower with plenty of really hot water. Nothing negative to say about the property. …
Beautiful House, Quaint Village, Perfect Location and Wonderful Hosts.
My friend and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay in this beautiful 5 bedroom house in a quaint village in France but surrounding areas of interest are easily accessible. The rooms are of the highest standard and spotlessly clean. The pool area is idyllic and peaceful. This property is perfect for families and friends to experience a taste of traditional France. The owners are so hospitable and will make sure all your needs are catered for but remain discreet. …
