“At home in a beautiful and tranquil setting!” This was definitely a great spot to destress. From the spacious terrace in every direction are countryside views of rolling hills, a distant hill top village, and on a clear day I was even able to see the snow capped pyrenees.
I did a walking holiday with full board. The meals were always very good and served with local wine. Colin and Janet made me feel so welcome and at home. We did some great walks and on days we couldnt walk they invited me to see local sites and visit local markets.
If you are here independantly with a car there are lots of things to see and do within a very short distance - Cordes, Albi, and Gaillac among others, are very close. All have historical sites, great markets and restaurants. Gaillac is also a good sized wine region and there are lots of nearby vineyards where you can taste and buy wine. Its a wonderful walking area with some great vistas.
The accommodations are top notch in tastefully renovated stone farm buildings.. I stayed in a room attached to the main house with private bath which was perfect for me.
I enjoyed my time here immensely, and would highly recommend it to others.
“Sympathetically restored village cottage by the Tarn, close to bastides, wineries and attractions” Sympathetically restored historic village cottage. All the facilities required at a reasonable price. Good boulangerie and bar for lunch in the village. Close to historic perched villages, Albi, wineries, scenic drives and walks, notable gardens. Good markets at nearby Gaillac and other towns in the area. Great having our own private walkway right on the river Tarn. Easy parking nearby. Still comfortable with 6 adults and a baby.
