The manor
The Perfect Christmas

Le Manoir is an excellent venue for parties of 10 or more. The facilities within the house make for a very comfortable stay. Two log fires, plenty of hot water, good mix of bedroom accommodation, extremely large living area with large dining table, well fitted out kitchen. Our hosts had provided Xmas decorations and the Xmas tree was absolutely stunning. Like any vacation property location is very important. St Marcel Du Perigord is a quiet village but in easy reach of St Alvere and Lalinde from which you can obtain most things you require. I would highly recommend the property and location plus the owners hospitality and friendliness made for a most enjoyable stay. Will be back soon … see more

A delightful property with delightful hosts in a lovely setting

We were a family of 6 in a comfortable house set, with others in lovely grounds. We enjoyed the conviviality of the other guests in in the complex, friendship being generated by the generous BBQ Peter & Nancy provide every Sunday. The pool facilities were excellent and enjoyed by all of us. W enjoyed the marches nocturnes in the neighbouring villages where the food and wine were excellent. Peter & Nancy were excellent hosts, there when needed but never intrusive. We are looking forward to going again … see more

Summer 2013 was a return visit to La Petite Maison, this time traveling by road & air from the UK. Our welcome from the resident proprietors was very warm and all our questions were met with prompt clear responses reinforced by the welcome pack. The best icebreaker of all was the evening barbecue held on the second night following our arrival which gelled families across the age ranges. We knew what to expect from our accommodation, having previously stayed in 2012, and were delighted with the several improvements. Le Manior is situated within easy walking distance of St Marcel-du-Perigord, the local village, with Laline on the River Dordogne, handy for the supermarket shopping, a short drive away. The teenagers were well catered for with the large pool on site and canoeing on the Dordogne. The patio area and small garden were fenced in to keep the dog from straying. … see more

Rural charm

As pungent wood smoke curled across the pretty hillside above the mellow stone village of St Marcel, Peter, the charming owner, welcomed us into the warmth of La Porcherie on a cold damp February afternoon. The flavours of rustic life captured in the exposed stonework, wood and tile floors and beams wrapped us in history without the hardships. The electric heating, efficient hot water system, easy to use wood stove, dishwasher and range of English TV channels were all most welcome. Indoors and out the rural tranquility was broken only by the solemn tolling of the church bell and trilling birdsong. On a summer day we would use of the barbecue, private courtyard garden, pool and grounds, but in winter the blazing woodburner and generous log supply completed a delightful fortnight. … see more
The Dovecote
Always great

We have been visiting Le Manoir for 15 years,at various times of the year, so we must love it! The property is situated near a lovely village in the most beautiful part of France. This year there was just two of us so we stayed in the Le Pigeonnier, but in the past, to accommodate family parties, we have stayed in the other gites; all full of character. A great welcome is always guaranteed from Peter and Nancy who do all they can to ensure that their guests have a wonderful stay, and are aware of the opportunities to enjoy the area.
