A well maintained gite with great access to the attractions and history of Normandy surrounded by countryside in rural France .
This is our second visit and it is a peaceful as we remember …
Very Friendly and Rural
The owners met us and were very helpful throughout our stay. Speaking native English communication was not a problem. The cottage was very homely and welcoming. A bit tricky to find but they provided detailed instructions from the ferry right to the door that we had no difficulty in following.
It was a bit cool in the cottage (it was early in the year...) but there were heaters and the wood fire quickly warmed up a cozy corner on the main floor. The owners had conveniently provided us with several food items to get us started and the kitchen had all the utensils you could think of needing. (Very) hot water was always available.
The cottage is conveniently located for Saint-Lo but also many other areas in Normandy (all only a short drive away). …

Wonderful stay at the Cidre Barn
We stayed at the Cidre Barn from 11th - 18th June, 2016. The Cidre Barn is well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. It is set in a very calm location, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The nearest village is Pont Herbert which has all the amenities that you need but if you want more choice of restaurants and shops then St Lo is only 10 minutes away by car. The Cidre Barn is ideally placed for visiting many of the attractions in the area, Bayeux, the Normandy Beaches and Museums and Caen are only around an hour away. Honfleur and Deauville are a little further but worth the visit if you have the time.. Christine and Ken (the owners) checked that we has everything we needed for our stay to make it a perfect break. We would highly recommend the Cidre Barn. …

Great location for WWII beaches and history.
The gite was clean and suitable for my wife and i . We enjoyed our stay there and the table tennis was great fun , but other than that the gite lacked a dvd player , cd player or any English speaking channels on the tele. However we spent most of our time out exploring and sightseeing and the nearest town of Saint Lo was a very pleasant place to visit and eat out. We would greatly recommend going to Honfleur , Cabourg , Port en bessain and obviously the D day beaches , not forgetting Maisey Battery a hidden gem . …
