“Great Holiday” In february 2011 we spent a week in this well equipped holiday resort and were quite impressed with the beautiful mountains we were surrounded by.
We did lots of skiing and enjoyed the local thermal spas.
“What a fantastic Skiing holiday! Great location and value.” We were a party of 6 adults not really sure what to expect from the slopes of Slovakia apart from knowing it was going to be much cheaper then some of the alternatives. We flew from London to Bratislava cheaply with Ryanair and hired a car from the airport - very quick and easy. The motorway is 1 minute away and the drive took us about 2.5hrs. The ski chalet is in Trnovec is a pleasant village by a huge lake. All the bedrooms are all a good size with one of them big enough for a whole family.. The village has a small but well stocked shop and there's a Pizza restaurant which is really good. The Jasna ski resort is an easy drive, about 20 minutes passing by the local Tesco – good for buying the beer on the way home again at the end of the day!). It's divided into three lift areas and each has its own car park.
The skiing is good for beginners, excellent for intermediates and good for experts, especially when there's plenty of natural snow as then you have the whole of the top half of the mountain to play on. Most runs have snow cannons so it's very snow sure and there's lots of tree lined runs which give you protection when the weather's bad. Nearly all the lifts are new and there's plenty of bars and restaurants on the slopes. But what really makes this place stand out is the prices. On the slopes a beer was just €1.30 and a really good lunch with a drink was around €4. Head into the main town of Liptovsky Mikulas and things get cheaper again, but the quality is always high. The ski school seems to be very good value as well with plenty of English speaking instructors. We popped in to the local aqua park one evening - it's huge and there's loads of naturally heated spa pools as well as plenty of water slides. A great way to relax after a day on the slopes and it's less than 5 mins drive from the house. Kids would love it. Slovakia is a well kept secret, I will definitely be going back !
“Great location, fantastic skiing, would love to visit in the summer.” We just would like to say what a wonderful time we had at this chalet.
Fantastic skiing condition on the doorstep, peaceful area, what a wonderful spacious villa. We drove in a car and stored it in the garage. We dined in an open fire restaurants close drive away, fantastic hospitality, blue skies all week with plenty of snow for beginner as well as accomplished skiers. Planning to return in the summer to visit the spas.
“My dream house in the mountains” The chalet sits on the mountain side above the village of Male Borove, a charming, traditional, rural village in the Lower Tatras. From the large wooden terrace, you can enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the valley.
We were warmly welcomed by the owner, who showed us around his beautiful house before sitting down over coffee and giving us some ideas of things to do. The house is built of natural materials in a traditional style. It is incredibly spacious and has been tastefully decorated and furnished. The owners are understandably very proud of their chalet and when we arrived it was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well appointed and we found everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable indeed.
Our children loved the space, indoors and out, and the neighboring cow. They enjoyed walks to the local villiage, the high wire park and absolutely loved the thermal water park. We were fortunate to experience the Folk festival in Zuberec, but also loved the gorge walks, the outdoor museum and trip to Chopok. Mountain bike trails and white water rafting might appeal to the more adventurous but we will have to wait until the children are a little older to enjoy those activities.
Our three children were all very taken with the chalet and we were all sad to leave. If you enjoy peace and quiet, are nature loving but like a little bit of luxury, Chalet Borovo will not disappoint.
It is without reservation that we can recommend Chalet Borovo, but please keep it to yourself.
“Good value for money in an excellent location” I stayed here for a skiing trip and the apartment was perfect for our group. The location is very short walk to the tram which can take you to some excellent locations for skiing or food and drinks in the evening.
But if you want to eat in then the facilities are more than adequate.
Slovakia doesn’t have the glamour of some its more famous neighbours, but instead has traditional villages, a strong folk culture and a people who offer a warm welcome to visitors. Slovakia's countryside is covered with forests, and ideal for walking or fishing breaks. This small country became independent in 1993, and its varied architecture is a remnant of its past under different powers’ control. Many towns such as Bardejov remain wonderfully preserved. Bratislava is Slovakia’s capital city, lying at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains and surrounded by vineyards.

Beautiful historic duplex in the heart of Old Town
Could not have been improved upon.
This stylish apartment was perfect. It was equipped with all the facilities that you would need and had comfortable beds. The location could not have been bettered, Right in the heart of the Old Town by the main square, in strolling distance of many shops, bars and cafes. We were also fortunate to be there during a festival so each day was full of music. Fantastic.
The city is fascinating and steeped in history and everyone, without exception, was friendly and helpful.
Olessia's mum Olga, who met us at the apartment, was lovely and very helpful. Even taking my husband back to the airport to collect his suitcase which had been lost on the outward journey 3 days before. Thank you so much Olga.
Also thank you Olessia, this was a seamless booking in a lovely apartment in a perfect location....who could ask for more.

AWESOME 2BR KOSICE OLD CITY DREAM HOME !!!
Sunny, Spacious and Spotlessly Clean
We felt quickly at home and had a really enjoyable stay in Martin's comfortable, practical, fully equiped and well maintained apartment.
With two large bedrooms, a separate living room and a separate kitchen/diner, the accommodation is very flexible.
We loved the walk-in shower with good pressure and hot water; the new and very comfortable beds; fans in every room for summer; the efficient central heating for winter; and the large modern windows with good blinds overlooking the small park with mature trees and masses of lovely smelling lavender.
The clean, quiet and safe house is situated next to a large leafy park and has a very useful, well-stocked general store underneath. It's an easy pleasant walk to city centre shops, restaurants, sights and the main stations.
The comprehensive description and great photos give a true and thorough picture.
Attention to detail is shown everywhere. We really appreciated the guide books, tourist brochures and maps of Kosice and Eastern Slovakia and the many small thoughtful touches and things left for our use - so important on arrival day!
Communication with Martin was excellent, friendly and welcoming throughout. A perfect host and available per email or text for any help if needed. Check-in was flexible, easy and efficient.
We look forward to a return stay and will definitely recommend this very welcoming apartment and friendly, beautiful Kosice to family and friends.

We had an amazing vacation! The area offers many options for various types of hikes with breathtaking views. The house is spacious and bright and the courtyard and the stream create a special relaxed atmosphere. The place is also suitable for two families with children. There is full equipment and good maintenance. Jackie the owner was very friendly and very quick to respond. She gave us good recommendations for activities in the area. We enjoyed it very much and hope to come back again in the future! …
Stunning and spacious property
Have just returned from a great 5 day stay in Levoca. Katerina and her son, a local lady, welcomed us at the house when we first arrived. When we all got through the main door from the street into this beautiful vestibule we were all stunned. It was such a surprise. Wow wee. She showed us the ground floor & all the rooms, then on up to the 1st floor, so many rooms, a Chinese themed bedroom and a main bedroom both beautifully decorated with good bedding and personal objects, the main had a spa type ensuite and its own personal sitting area. The space was just incredible & then there was the 3rd floor! This house is vast and yet was so warm and toasty throughout our whole stay. There were bathrooms & kitchen areas on every floor. The shower on 1st floor was especially good. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Local information was on hand with books, flyers and guides in the main/middle sitting room. There were 3 original fireplaces in various rooms but there was no need to light them as heating was so good. The wifi only extends across the middle floor which was fine as its so big. We were a party of eight, including two teenagers but this place could easily have accommodated up 10 + people, there were also 2 cots and another double bed too.
Some of the group had bikes so they loved it here as there was so much storage & hose pipes to clean them so a thumbs up for being bike friendly. Levocska Dolina is only 10 min drive from here and has snowboarding & ski equipment for hire at a good rate. €12 a day for skis, boots & poles or snowboard, boots & helmet €16 for the day. It is more for beginners, getting your confidence up again or nice gentle skiing whilst the ski slopes over in Tatra Mountains are a bit further to drive, 40 mins for enthusiasts.
The top floor apartment has so much space, is cooler up here, is very bright & light. The teenagers loved it up there.
So many rooms to take your pick from in regards to eating and sitting so we’d make it fun in taking turns in deciding which one it would be. However, it is very cheap to eat out and beer & wine are cheap also.
Honesty we could go on and on but just wanted to try and encapsulate how this holiday house is so very different, unusual and interesting from anything any of us have ever stayed in. We were not sure at first but are just so delighted we did. We want to come back nearer Christmas time with more of the family as we are sure it will be a magical place at that time with all the snow around too. …
