“Fantastic relaxing break.” Booked this last minute & so glad we did. We travelled with our two dogs & the property was ideal, with its huge private garden & numerous circular walks to be enjoyed without getting into our car. The property itself was light & airy, with lovely rural views. The gite is well equipped & maintained to a high standard. The owners Gill & Tony life in the adjoining farmhouse & although on hand for advice if needed, were unobtrusive. Close by is a village with bars & restaurant & a good supermarket with petrol station. We moved on after a week having booked a gite in the Charente but would have happily stayed here for the two weeks. Ideal holiday destination if you are travelling with pets or children due to the large garden & relaxed hosts.
“A real home from home in a tucked away tranquil setting” Enjoyed a weeks long stay in this lovely gite. Very well equipped accommodation in a private location, but within walking distance of a well stocked shop and patisserie. The pool was excellent - very private and a decent size to have a swim. Perfect for exploring the Loire Valley.
“Relaxing on the Loire” Riverside Cottage is a traditionally furnished, comfortable, homely property offering a peaceful retreat from modern life, whilst offering "all mod cons". The owner was helpful and pleasant, and encouraged us to take full advantage of the facilities, with two gardens well equiped kitchen and satelite TV / WiFi. There is a supermarket a short drive away, local boulangerie and resturant, with the delightful Samur a few miles along the river. The Chateau is worth a visit, as is Angers where we took a tourist train around the old town. Locals are friendly, some good wine at good prices, and we included a trip to Paris - but this is nearly 3 hours drive, so be prepared to stop over to make the best of that. Great views of the river (and wildlife) which is literally on the other side of the road, and don't be put off by the weather beaten exterior as you arrive!
