“You relax immedietly amongst wonderful surroundings with super facilities for all the family” The two gites are well situated for access to the pool and seeting areas. There is a games room and large open space which was ideal for our teenages. The pool is a good size with plenty of seeting inclosed by a railed white fence for safety, The kitchen was well equipped with a dishwasher, good sized fridge and cooker. The bedrooms were spacious with excellent on-suite facilities. Spaciuos living area with double doors leading out to the garden. The shops are close by in Allonnes, you can cycle or 2 mins by car. The owners live on site and are very friendly. They wellcomed us with drinks on the first evening and went out of there way to make us feel relaxed, helping us with bikes advise on where to visit and eat. There are local vineyards to visit, a super local market, many wonderful Chateau's and gardens, a brilliant zoo, wonderfull woody walks and Saumur with its shops cafe's and impressive Chateau.
“Beautifully renovated and well appointed gite in peaceful surroundings” Following easy directions provided when booking, you will find La Grange in a peaceful quiet area outside Allonnes - itself only about 7k from the Chateau town of Saumur. Mark and Judy provided a warm welcome and Judy went on to make sure that we knew where everything was before leaving us to settle in with our complimentary bottle of local wine.
The accommodation is first rate and each of the three en-suite bedrooms is roomy and comfortable, just right for a large family.
The Loire Valley area is steeped in history and you can rarely travel far without coming across yet another vineyard offering wine tasting experiences, in between visiting Chateaux.
Lovely gites, well located, with lots to see and do nearby.
We took both gites for our extended family group, which included toddlers, teenagers and grandpa, as well as our dog. The swimming pool was a big hit with the children, who also loved having their very own football pitch. The dog loved the large fenced in area. We had some lovely evenings looking out across the countryside and watching the sunsets, stars, owl and bats. The gites were very well equipped, and it was easy to have all of us eating together in one gite. We also appreciated the fact that there were lots of bathrooms. It is very easy to get around, and we loved our trip to Chenonceau. For families we'd all very much recommend the troglodyte zoo - one of the best zoos we've ever visited. Judy and Mark and family were excellent hosts. …
La Grange - volets rouges
Superb! A Benchmark for others to aim for
A superb location with the culture and classic French delights of wine and cheeses readily available. Nice and quiet plus peaceful to rest and enjoy the immaculate accommodation including a large spotless swimming pool. This is family run and the care and attention to detail clearly shows ensuring your stay is perfect. You can be assured of a genuine friendly welcome from a really nice family with local knowledge. The garden is secure and the Gite private so you can relax and enjoy your surroundings.
This has to be the benchmark others aim to achieve.
Thank-you I really enjoyed my stay …
La maison fleurie
We have recently returned from a two week break at this lovely gite,it is aptly named as there are flowers everywhere! The gite itself is a lovely spacious home from home, all mod cons and Anne Marie had it well stocked with anything you would need for your stay, including a welcome pack on our arrival! Two bikes were on offer for cycling the lovely flat roads around the village and loads of info on the area in brochures were included too.We were presented with a half dozen fresh eggs our first morning there,a lovely touch!Anne Marie and her husband Domenique were on hand for any queries but not intrusive and went to great trouble to sort out the English channels on TV for us.The area itself is vineyard country, very picturesque, plenty of degustation!Nearby the village of Borgueil holds a great weekly market and La Trattoria and La Gallette Bourgeilloise are recommended for food! Le Capiteine municipal park provided us with beach and swimming facilities and there is another swimming pool for public use in Brain sur Allonnes.Carrefour is a 5 min.drive for groceries or Hyper U further out is a bigger supermarket.Day trips to Tours or Saumur are within easy reach as are some lovely villages to just wander through. All in all this gite was a great way to experience french living like the locals, highly recommended! …
La Forge - volets rouges
First rate accommodation in a great location.
We enjoyed an excellent week with our 2 dogs at la forge. It was clear from the outset that Mark and Judy have carefully and thoughtfully constructed an excellent, client led gite business in a great edge of village location. Both gites are finished to an impressively high specification whilst separate entrances and enclosed gardens offer welcome privacy. The shared pool is a generous size and there is much to see and do around and about. All amenities are within easy reach as is the beautiful town of Saumur.. Highly recommended. …
