“Lovely apartment, well appointed and a great location” 26 Place St Leonard is tucked away on a road very close to the centre of Honfleur (only 5 minutes). Communication from the owner (Didier) was excellent, and seamless. Payments and refunds were achieved through Paypal, which made the whole process super easy.
The apartment is charming, with beams and wood in abundance, and has been decorated and furnished with sympathy to its Norman origins, and a nod to practical modernity, with all conveniences you could hope for (including a superbly equipped kitchen and a high end AV system).
The location is ideal, a short walk to the shops and the harbour of Honfleur. nearby is a first class butcher, and an excellent boulangerie (try the Escargot Praline- heavenly!). It is important to know that the apartment is at the top of several flights of narrow, twisting stairs, and therefore unsuitable for the infirm or those with a physically limiting disability.
The sleeping accomodation is very comfortable, with a large double in one room, and two singles in the other. This brings me to the only challenge we faced- the upstairs twin room is open to the staircase, and this was a problem for our 4-year old, who found it hard to get to sleep with us downstairs making noise. We eventually took to watching DVDs on our laptop in bed until he was asleep! So, may not be a problem for you, but something to be aware of.
All in all, a lovely place to stay, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Symp-attic 2 rooms in Honfleur heart. Cosy & calm, free wifi, linen included
Central location, lovely apartment!
The apartment is in a central location close to all the restaurants and main sites with free parking 2 minutes walk away. Recently decorated in a very tasteful style, it's a beautiful, romantic place to stay. It was quiet, equipped with everything you might need and with nice views over the rooftops. Veronique, who met us with the keys, was lovely and gave us lots of useful advice about the best places to eat and shop. We wouldn't hesitate to re-book if we were returning to the area. …
Delightful 17th Century Cottage
Our 3rd cottage stay in Honfleur and we've picked a winner each time!
Boudin Cottage is a really nice cottage ~ it has all you need (almost!). Set on 3 levels, it's beautifully presented and furnished in a mix of shabby chic/traditional French style... clean and uncluttered.
It was more than comfy for us (2) and could easily cope with 2 couples or a small family. The upstairs bedroom is excellent, but we didn't actually use it!!. We used the middle floor bedroom which has a living area attached and also a further single bed. Internet was good and the cottage was quiet.
A couple of bad points are: parking can be a problem (we were lucky exceot for one day), the toilet is downstairs (down the spiral type staircase (adventure for kids, problem for elderly!) and the lack of a BBQ/yard/garden area. Oh, and you really need to get some sharp knives in the kitchen!!
All in all, delightful place to stay. And special mention for Catherine, the delightful key-holder. …
