The exterior of the cottage is wooden clad in traditional Suffolk style and guests will be greeted with the large tri-fold patio doors to the front. Designated parking and a secure patio and garden allows guests to sit in comfort and enjoy the surroundings.

Shearers Cottage includes an enclosed private garden which is fenced to secure any little ones. Garden furniture and bbq is included for you to sit back and relax. Within the owners large enclosed garden children are welcome to enjoy the wooden play equipment and large trampoline as their grandchildren only visit occasionally. Please note

guests are responsible for the safety of their children at all times.

Guests are also welcome to enjoy walks across the owners fields to admire the views of the River Deben. Keen ramblers can enjoy beautiful riverside walks all the way to Woodbridge from the cottage. Situated at the rear of the cottage is the owners working farm, home to the free range Sutton Hoo chickens, children

The East Anglia region

Shearers Cottage is situated in the hamlet of Sutton Hoo, 400 yds from the National Trust Anglo Saxon burial site. Within half a mile of the cottage and easy walking distance are two great food pubs, The Wilford Bridge and The Unruly Pig. Woodbridge Golf course is also just across the road and open to non-members. The nearest shop and train station are in the village of Melton just under 1 mile away.

Woodbridge

The market town of Woodbridge is just 2 miles away and offers plenty of interesting shops, restaurant and pubs. To add to your enjoyment there is also a theatre, swimming pool and plenty of riverside amenities. Situated on a working farm, home to Sutton Hoo free range chickens, the cottage is just a stones throw from the Sutton Hoo National Trust site and under 13 miles to the historic town of Framlingham with its wonderful castle. Coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are only a short drive away.
