Description

MEADOW COTTAGE is approached by a tree lined drive set at the top of a hay meadow,the historic barn goes back over 200 year's but has been tastefully converted to a three bedroom cottage,yet still retaining a massive amount of character,also very popular with singles and families and friend's ,the cottages are family owned and run and have been for the last 25 year's,.Down the meadow there is a two acre play -safe field/picnic area where you will find basketball,goal's and picnic tables complete with a BBQ.There is also our pet pony and chicken's to feed,so just come and enjoy. The cottage is available from 3pm,and the departure is 10.am. WE ARE ALSO ON TRIP ADVISORS CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE.

.Anybody who is into walking/strolling can start from the farm and join up to the manifold valley track, or just watch/listen as the steam trains pass through the manifold track[certain week-ends]This cottage is Heart of England 3 STAR's inspected,and it has been awarded PET'S WELCOME.Asda,tesco,and all other's deliver to the farm.Please note Pet's are welcome just inquire.

“Perfect location for a very child- friendly or quiet retreat”

We were greeted by the very friendly host Graham who made us feel very welcome straight away. The cottage was very clean and cosy and a nice touch was the supply of enough milk, teabags and coffee to have a hot drink on arrival. The outdoor space was perfect for our lively grandchildren aged 6 & 8 to explore and run free safely. They especially loved petting and feeding Elliot the adorable pony and helping Graham feed the chickens. The location is ideal for Gulliver Kingdom theme park, The Heights of Abraham,Matlock, The Peak District Wildlife Park, and Alton Towers so never a shortage of keeping the children entertained. Would highly recommend this Gem of a place with exceptionally nice hosts. Well worth a visit.

“Fabulous Rural Peak District Cottage”

The cottage was a great find for us, very well equipped, set in a beautiful location off the beaten track. The living space was very comfortable with great views of both the surrounding peaks and the birds in the garden. The bedrooms were of a good size and the beds were very cosy. The outdoor space was perfect for our girls aged 6 and 7, as they loved running in the field and playing on the bikes and scooters. We loved watching the wildlife including rabbits on the field and woodpeckers in the garden! The girls especially liked going to see Elliot the pony. The owners were very kind and friendly and made our stay fabulous. A great base to enjoy the peaks, only a stone's throw from Ilam, Dovedale, Alton towers and the Manifold trail. Thanks very much, I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

“Not for winter!”

The area is amazing and Graham (the owner) is a nice person, but there are some basic things that were lacking, which made our holiday quite challenging. The radiators were working from 11 pm to 4 am only. This is not expected, especially when it is zero degree out there and you have kids. This was Freezing Hell!!! Also, one doesn't expect to be paying for electricity on top of what was paid: the owner had a meter with coins. However, we ended up not paying after I explained to him that it was not fair. Towels were not provided and we had to ask for them. Wifi was an absolute nightmare, didn't work 80% of the time and was very slow when it worked. Toaster was broken but got fixed the next day. Oven door latch was broken and got fixed 4 days later. The farm is far from main roads and definitely needs a car. Otherwise, the surrounding area is amazing and the farm is 30-40 m driving from many attractions. Surely, I wouldn't advise to go there in winter!

Stayed at meadow cottage during half term and what a lovely place to stay. The cottage is a perfect getaway, great location, good base as really central for many attractions around staffordshire and surrounding areas, quite secluded and peaceful once your on the property but not too isolated as there are two smaller cottages across the courtyard. Plenty of outside seating and Parking space, access is off a narrow country lane and the cottage is surrounded by fields with fantastic Panasonic views of the countryside. The kids loved it as lots of secure open space to wander and play, an area to play ball with goals and picnic benches, which can be seen from the cottage windows, the highlight was a lovely little Shetland pony and a duck. The cottage is a great size, fully equipped, very clean and well presented. The owner Graham and his family were fantastic from the initial booking to end of stay, informative, helpful and very friendly, and made our stay very pleasant. We will definitely be visiting again and recommend it to anyone with families or groups of friends with kids.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
