"Definitely a place to visit"
We decided on Sri Lanka as we wanted a beach holiday, but liked the idea of mixing it up with a bit of exploring and culture. (Family of 9 with kids December 2011 ) After our trip I can assure you that Sri Lanka is a fantastic country to visit. The people are incredibly friendly, the scenery is wild yet beautiful and there is a ton to do. Upon arrival we received a cool beverage by the pool and were immediately taken in by the size and immaculate condition of the villa. It’s huge and beautifully maintained and even though you will spend most of your time outdoors, you’ll find it both luxurious and comfortable. As you’d expect we spent most of our time outside by the pool or on the beach, the photos on the website don’t do it justice (however it’s always nice when reality is better than the advertisement) Breakfast is prepared and cooked for you each morning, while its all good, we could not get enough of the fruit salad. We ended up eating a lot of meals at the Villa as Ann was a wonderful cook who prepared some amazing curries (take care not to eat three a day as we did, I suggest you ease yourself into it as the food is quite spicy) Its also well setup if you’d like to prepare a meal yourself. Of all the wonderful features and services available at Palm Beach, we found the staff (Lasitha, Ann and Patrick) truly wonderful. They were brilliant with the kids, with us and had the uncanny ability to only appear when we needed them. Lasitha, Ann and Patrick thank you very much again. Lasitha’s knowledge of the area and activities allowed us to take some wonderful day trips to Galle, Kandy and Colombo. Elephants, Turtles, art & craft factories, snorkelling, tea or spice farms we saw it all. Lasitha was also a tremendous help when it came to finding deals on whatever we wanted. About the only negative is the driving, it takes forever to get anywhere. Getting around Sri Lanka without Lasitha would be impossible, the roads are a little crazy (however Lasitha informed us that the highway from the Airport to the Villa should be complete March 2012) Would we return to Palm Beach Villa, would we recommend Palm Beach Villa to family and friends: Yes and Yes, this was one of the best holidays we have ever had and the Palm Beach Villa was a huge part of that.
