“Beautiful House, Quaint Village, Perfect Location and Wonderful Hosts.”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2015

My friend and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay in this beautiful 5 bedroom house in a quaint village in France but surrounding areas of interest are easily accessible. The rooms are of the highest standard and spotlessly clean. The pool area is idyllic and peaceful. This property is perfect for families and friends to experience a taste of traditional France. The owners are so hospitable and will make sure all your needs are catered for but remain discreet.

“A magical place, superb hosts, beautiful environment.”

Les Martinets was excellent. A magnificent house furnished with a wonderful collection of antiques and memorabilia. Superb secluded swimming pool. The most relaxing place imaginable.

“excellent stay”

Great villa with pool. Realy enjoyed the area. St Emillion was wonderful. Chateau Le Plante local to the Villa was an experience not to be missed and the wine tasteing was free!!! but we did buy 6 bottles. Thankyou to Kim for your hospitality.

“Idylic House and Area”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2014

8 of us stayed at Les Martinets for a week in August, although the weather wasn't fantastic this did not spoil our holiday. The house is beautiful, very well equipped and plenty of room for 8 adults. The pool is a real bonus, being completely private with a wonderful terrace for evening bbqs. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of 'wine tasting' chateaus to visit!. We would reccommend Chateau LaPlante. Also had a great time canoeing on the Dordogne 20 minutes away.

“Excellent house in lovely location.”

We stayed at this beautiful house in August as our son was getting married in Villefranche de Lonchat. The house is lovely, well equipped and the hosts Kim and Russ made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Villefranche is well situated for visiting surrounding towns like St Emillion. Would definitely recommend.

“A dream of a holiday home!”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2012

An absolutely fantastic house with everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday and more. The rooms are large, the bathrooms plentiful and the furniture is so tasteful. It was spotless and well equipped. The pool was a Godsend as the weather was beautiful. It is secluded and has plenty of seats, tables and sunbeds. The house was well situated to visit vineyards, a lake with manmade beach, interesting towns such as St Emillion and Bergerac and a number of reasonable restaurants recommended by the helpful owners who were there if you needed them but not intrusive. The village housed a friendly bar and hotel and held a special night in the village square during the Summer. It also had a bakery, shop, pharmacy doctors etc. I would recommend this beautiful house to anyone; couples, families etc.

“Absolute gem!”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2011

This was our second stay at this fabulous house after spending two weeks of our honeymoon here last year - still the best holiday home we've ever stayed at. The house is in excellent order - large rooms, very well equipped with every home comfort needed and plenty of space to spread out. Out of all the places we've stayed at over the years, it's definitely the one that always feels like a home from home rather than an impersonal rental. By far the best feature is the outdoor space where a completely private garden includes a large swimming pool and poolside patio - it's a superb sun trap and place to enjoy both fun during the day, and al fresco dining in the evening. The location is excellent; the village is beautiful with a couple of good restaurants, local shop, bank and friendly people. Close by are some great local vineyards, chateaux and places to visit. The hosts are the perfect combination of helpful yet unobtrusive, close by but only when needed. We can't recommend this property highly enough for couples and families.

“Lovely home & good location for day trips”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2011

We stayed in Mid September, so a lot of the summer activities in the town and lake has closed. The house was lovely with a fabulous garden and swimming pool. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well equipped. For evening's in, there is the option to watch UK TV. Kim is an attentive host, but not intrusive. We found the house a good base to travel to the various vineyards and towns, such as Bergerac and St Emillion. We would recommend this property to families, groups of friends or couples.
