From the owner

Field House Cottage is the ideal base for your Peak District holiday or short break. You can enjoy its rural and scenic location at The Roaches, ideal for walking, climbing and other outdoor activities, while also being close to Leek, Buxton, Chatsworth, Alton Towers and many other great places.

Originally dating back to 1650, Field House Cottage has been refurbished to provide everything you need to relax in this beautiful setting. Downstairs there is a fully fitted kitchen with a dining area and access to the front and back cottage patios with tables and chairs (bbq available). There is a also a separate sitting room downstairs with fantastic views across the garden. The cottage sleeps up to 4-6 people with two upstairs bedrooms - one has a flexible zip and link super king or twin bed while the other has two single beds - and there is a sofa bed in the sitting room. We can provide a cot if required too. Upstairs there is a fitted bathroom with combined bath / shower.

The cottage is attached to our own home but with separate entrances. Guests are welcome to use our large garden but children need to be supervised at all times as there is open water (a seasonal lake, island and pond), plus a dam and rocks.

We have a dog, cats, chickens and ducks but with animals on-site, we're unable to accept pets at Field House Cottage.

Beautiful cottage

A beautiful cottage in every sense and an ideal base for exploring the Roaches and surrounding areas. The cottage is very well equipped and shops are just a few miles away in Leek.

Why can't I call Olivia (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Olivia (the owner) a message.

If Olivia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
