Description

The Dovecote is an exceptionally well renovated and furnished barn conversion based in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Luxury self-catering retreat.

Based on a small working farm just on the out skirts of a small country village. Easy to access and find from both the AONE and the MONE. With ample car parking space and a view onto an open field which the children can play or the dogs can stretch there legs and a court yard for ball games. On the front of the house is a patio to relax in the fresh country air with tables and chairs. Leading onto the fully fitted kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a large sitting room / dinning room with doors which can be opened onto the patio. With an open hall way and a downstairs toilet and shower room. On the ground floor is one of the first bedrooms which is a single bedroom but if required does have another bed underneath which can be turned into a double room.

Leading up the stairs is the main double bedroom and the family bathroom. Another two rooms are on the first floor, one is a single room and another is a twin room. All fitted with wardrobes cupboards and mirrors.

Sleeps 6 Guests (7 Guests One pull Out bed If Needed)

There is a lovely local pub just down the road which serves great food. Also in the next village just a 10min walk or a minute drive is the local shop and Post Office which sells fresh local bread and our eggs which are from the Lodge Barns Farm Yard. Fiskerton village also has another great local pub and an award winning Indian restaurant.

Near by is the Southwell Racecourse which also has a fantastic golf course.

The historic town of Southwell is one of the hidden gems of Nottinghamshire. It is dominated by its historic Minster, which dates back to the 12th century. Southwell Minster, Southwell. Near the Minster was villa in Roman times. Nearby are the ruins of the palace of the archbishops of York dating back to the 14th century.

At the other end of the town is Burgage Green. Adjoining the green is Burgage Manor where the young Byron stayed with his mother in the early part of the 19th century.

We are based on a farm, The owner Val has recently passed the running of the business over to family and me Amanda the grandaughter. I don't live down on the farm but my family do should you need anything. Key arrangements are a key box code next to the door so it makes it much easier for your check in and check out. Check in time from 2pm and check out time 11am. We do like to leave the guests to it but are just a phone call away if you need us or you may see us out and about on your stay why down on the farm with us. So should you need us for anything we are more than happy to help!

“Fantastic place to stay”

Our family of 6 adults and 3 children had a brilliant time staying in the barn. It was spacious and very well equipped with everything we needed. A travel cot and high chair were set up already. The beds were comfortable and towels amazingly fluffy !! We would certainly recommend it for a place to explore the Nottingham area. Thank you.

Lovely clean house well equiped . outside space good pubs nearby were good . If I had to be picky internet poor, downstairs shower just ok and only given 2 toilet rolls for 3 night stay for 6 but lovely cottage would definately book again , Very pleasant people to book thro

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Val & Peter (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
