The shepherds hut nestles in the corner of Mill Farm Country Park with mature hedges behind. It makes an Ideal glamping holiday for two people visiting the area, or meeting up with friends and family who may be staying at Mill Farm Country Park. It has been well equipped and cleverly designed to give the maximum amount of space and storage,
We provide a welcome pack of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a pint of locally produced milk upon arrival.
To make your holiday really special we can light up the shepherds hut with fairy lights and bunting for £7.00 each this is a one off payment for the duration of your stay. (Contact me direct for this.)
Toilets, showers and dish washing facilities all have free hot water and are conveniently positioned 50 meters away in the main building on the campsite.
The shepherds hut was locally made and has been insulated with environmentally friendly sheep wool.
It contains a 5 foot by 6 foot bed with a very comfortable mattress, along with bed linen and towels. Under the bed is a large storage drawer.
The fitted kitchen dresser is kitted out with microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and of course a washing up bowl, washing up liquid and tea towel.
You can eat inside at the table with the two folding chairs or alfresco taking advantage of the small folding table provided.
There is a wardrobe with shoe storage, a clothes airier, small desk fan and electric portable heater,.
For entertainment there is a shelf with a dab radio, books, games and puzzles plus tourist information.
Please note:- only microwave cooking is to be done in the shepherds hut and no pet's, candles or smoking is allowed inside the shepherds hut.
BBQ are allowed outside provided they are away from the shepherds hut and are raised off the grass to prevent scorching, bbq tools are provided.
Skipsea village is situated half a mile from the East Yorkshire coast with one long beach from Bridlington to Spurn Point. In Skipsea village there is the Board Inn pub, a village shop and post office. The village church dates back to 1090C and there are the excellent earthworks of Skipsea Castle which date to the Iron age. At Skipsea sea front there is a fish and chip shop and amusements.
The area is noted for its big skies, the views out to sea and the beautiful rolling landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds.
At Mill Farm Country Park we have a tree lined walk down one of our fields. If you go very quietly you may see roe deer, hares and a variety of farm land birds and sea birds.
A few miles away are the towns of Hornsea, Bridlington, Driffield and Beverley each with their own markets and individuality. There are the lovely historic houses of Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House, Burton Constable Hall and Wassand Hall.
This area is good for walking, cycling and bird watching. There is freshwater and sea fishing available nearby.
