From the owner

Our traditional croft cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday, in an island setting which you can choose to be as relaxing or as active as you wish. Bookings are available from Saturday to Saturday in high season, but other durations can be available from October to May. Bike or car hire can be arranged.

Within a 10 miles radius of the cottage are a number of the most popular visitor sites on the Isle of Lewis -- the Callanish Stones, the Norse Mill, The Carloway Broch (Fort) and the popular surfing beaches of Dalmore and Dalbeag. The beaches of Uig and Bernera are approximately 30 minutes drive from Shawbost

Mill Cottage is a traditional Lewis croft house recently renovated for comfortable and relaxing holidays. The large kitchen has everything you need for your stay including washing machine, dryer, fridge, dishwasher and freezer. The sitting room has an open fire and wide selection of books, games, and DVDs.

There are three bedrooms, 2 double and 1 twin. The downstairs bedroom has an en-suite shower room and walk-in wardrobe. Upstairs there are a further two bedrooms and a study area. The cottage has wireless broadband and digital TV. The back porch is ideal for storing wet weather and fishing gear etc. There is ample off-road parking.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Mill Cottage is situated on a large working croft in the village of North Shawbost (Siabost bho tuath). Shawbost beach is less than 10 minutes walk from the cottage

Beautiful location and very comfortable cottage, with everything we needed. Cosy front room with open fire. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach and stunning coastline.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ann (the owner) a message.

If Ann (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
