Location description from owner

The Paphos District

Polis is set on the beautiful bay of Chrysochou, about 30 km north of Paphos on the Western side of Cyprus. It is adjacent to the national park area of the Akamas Peninsula, not far from the famous Aphrodite Baths.

Polis

The Akamas peninsula is a great area for walking. There are many surrounding Cypriot villages. The Troodos mountains are within driving distance - in winter they even have a ski resort there. Nearby Latsi offers romantic walks along the newly created promenade, watching the sun go down over the peninsular. You can hire boats from the marina or have fun with the watersports on offer.

“Absolutely brilliant Vi”

Reviewed 1 Feb 2017

We have been to this Villa on numerous occasions and always feel like we are going home and not for Holodays. That is all down to the lovely Villa, location near the Pool, great area in Polis, but mostly due to Dave and Julia. Nothing is bother to them it's like they are only dealing with you and there job is to make your Holiday the most enjoyable and stress free time possible. Will keep going to there Villa it is so comfortable and within an easy walk of supermarket, shops and Restaurants will not hesitate to book, again.

“Brilliant place to celebrate my 50th birthday”

Reviewed 24 Nov 2012

I have recently returned from a week-long stay at Villa Polis in Polis, Cyprus. It was my 50th birthday and 3 of my brothers and sisters came along to help me celebrate. The accommodation was just perfect for us: Twin beds allowed us to have a 'boys room' and a 'girls room', each with en suite bathroom. The facilities were great: A nice spacious and comfortable lounge area, dining table and kitchen space alongside. I love cooking and the kitchen had everything I needed. We ate in on a few nights but to be honest it was almost as cheap eating out. The main square in Polis was just a 10 minute walk away and the restaurants were all very friendly, excellent value and open - which was great as we were staying at the end of the season! Dave and Julie, the owners, were very helpful in making recommendations for car hire, places to visit and places to eat. They even arranged for a welcome pack of essentials for our arrival. It was great to get there and have tea, coffee, milk and a nice rose wine plus breakfast for the following day, sorted! There is an excellently presented INFO pack which we found really useful. I celebrated my birthday at a a restaurant called 'Finikas' on Polis Square. They brought my dessert out with lit sparklers and sang 'happy birthday' which was nice of them and it seemed very sincere! The best bit of the holiday though was the outside patio and shared pool. It was a bit chilly in the pool, but understandably so for the time of year, but as the weather was still hot - 27-29C all week - after a bit of a lie in the sun on the comfy sunbeds provided, a quick dip in the pool was really refreshing! We hired a car which in reality is essential. The inter-city buses are infrequent. The roads are good but some of the other drivers were a little scary at times. Don't let this put you off though. Knowing this just helps you to be vigilant that's all. Cypriots also drive on the left which helps if you do at home aswell. We visited Paphos on one day - c. 40 mins drive south. We also spent our last day there before our flight - which was a nice end to the hols. We went into the mountains on one day. A beautiful drive into the cedar and pine forest; far greener and lush than the coastal plains. We had a great walk with amazing views from a small town which was the birthplace of Archbishop Makarios. We visited Coral bay - not really our kind of place to be honest but great if you have young kids. Polis itself is very laid back and not really touristy like Paphos. We all came home with the urge to go back as soon as we can!!! My brother in law has already decided he wants to take his kids along for a week next year. For a fantastic break in lovely suuroundings, with all amenities, shops, restaurants and nice scenery, on hand, I couldn't recommend Villa Polis enough. But don't all book at once cos I'd like to go back again soon too!

“FANTASTIC VILLA IN GREAT COMPLEX”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2012

We're no strangers to the town of Polis having holidayed there in one type of accommodation or other over the last twelve years. I can honestly say that this is the absolute best accommodation we have stayed in and one of the most relaxing and stress free holidays we have had. First off booking was extremely easy and hassle free by e-mail due to the very pleasant and helpful Julie. Directions and a very comprehensive info sheet on the villa, complex and town was provided. The villa is spacious, modern, well furnished and extremely well equipped. We dined out most nights but if you wanted to self cater there is every bit of kitchen equipment you could possibly ever need. The patio is lovely. The photos don't do it justice! It's spacious and is shaded by lunchtime and lovely to sit on when you want a little break from the heat. The pool is fantastic and really is about ten steps from the villa. The pool is cleaned twice a week and very well kept. It's about 100 feet long and you can certainly have a proper swim in it. The whole complex is very clean and maintained to a very high standard. The town centre is a 15 minute walk to all the lovely cafes and restaurants and a 20 minute meander on the way home. There are 2 very good big supermarkets very close by, Papantoniou and Orphanides. Both do groceries, bakeries, meats, toiletries etc. Looking forward to going back next summer. Top marks from us!!

“Fabulous holiday home in a fabulous location”

Reviewed 21 May 2012

This was our 1st visit to Cyprus and we are so glad we chose this property which we found via Holiday Lettings. The whole complex was lovely & clean with first class facilities. Swimming Pool approx 10 steps from the patio. Easy walk to local restaurants & supermarket in Polis town. Highly recommended, in fact we have booked again for October.

“Absolutely wonderful”

Reviewed 17 May 2012

This is a very well looked after villa and the owners have thought of everything. It is great for just chilling around the pool or walking into Polis for the restaurants which there are quite a few very well priced ones. The rooms were lovely and cosy and everything matched they really have gone into a lot of careful planning and the end result is just great. Can't wait to go back very soon and I will be definitely recommending this villa to all my friends. Thanks again to the lovely owners

“Perfect relaxation”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2012

Our 4th trip to this lovely villa was not disapointing. With a large pool on the doorstep breakfast on the balcony each morning and eating places a walk away. we had a wonderful holiday. We are going back in September. Can't wait.

“Great townhouse”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2011

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Villa Polis - it was everything we hoped it would be. The townhouse was comfortable, well furnished and equipped and situated in such a convenient location. The pool is only a few steps away from the terrace and the complex is so quiet and relaxing. Would definitely book again.

“A perfect location for a peaceful, restful break”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2011

The accommodation was exceptional and had everything we needed. It was very hot whilst we were there so the large shaded patio area was very welcome. The gorgeous pool and non stop sunshine was a few paces from the patio so we had the best of the shade, the pool and the sun. Polis town square (15 minute steady walk) had an abundance of good quality restaurants and cafes. We were very impressed and if you have a car there are even more a short drive into Latsi around the marina. A particular mention and thank goodness we didn't find it until nearer the end of our holiday was the Arts Cafe owned and run by a lovely German lady. She makes the most amazing cakes - different ones each day. Its just at the back of the town square and well worth a visit. The coffee is great as well. All in all we had a great time and would certainly return.

“Lovely bright modern villa in superb location”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2011

I had the pleasure of staying at this property for a week in May. The accommodation is furnished to a high standard and all of the equipment is modern and efficient. An added bonus was the 2 en-suite bedrooms and really loved the outside terrace and lovely clean swimming pool. There is a large supermarket down the road, not too far to carry the shopping bags, and loved the restaurants and bars in Polis (about 10 minutes walk from the villa). This was my first trip to Cyprus, and felt that the town was not too commercialised, and couldn't get over the friendliness of the people. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone I came into contact with. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this property, so much so that I am in the process of booking for next year.

“Clean, comfortable and very quiet place to escape from a city”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2011

We just came back from our 14 days holiday we had in this villa. Both we and our 9 year old son were just happy to stay there and really didn't want to come back. It is our first experience where we rented a house, we used to stay in the hotels before. And here are some of our impressions (actually excerption from my first e-mail to the owner after we came back): Everything in Polis was PERFECT! Housing was good higher our expectations. Starting from all the equipments needed for normal life up to the great and very quiet location it has and good neighbors we had this time! We really didn't want to leave and I personally would say I would spend complete rest of my life in place like this I would thank you especially for the folder you have in the first floor! It is just perfect idea to make a tool like this. It helped a lot. We visited almost all restaurants that you recommended and always were very positively surprised. Liza's is just gorgeous! Our sun said every time he would like to go "to the grandpa" :-). We were there twice unfortunately not on BBQ... we had boat that day. Thanks perfect housing this year we could see much more than usual when we stay in the hotel. We were almost everywhere!!! Troodos where we were for the first time made us just mad about its beauty and comfortable roads! Nice small villages and VIEWS! We hope this was our first but not last stay in this villa.
