“Lovely Family Holiday”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2016

Just got back from a lovely holiday at Vie Facile. The gite is (for us) perfectly located. It's peaceful and private but not isolated. The gite is very spacious, and so is the outside space. Plenty to keep the kids entertained (swings, trampoline, heated pool). The surrounding area is very nice too. Mont Castre is just down the road and is well worth a visit. The nearest town is La Haye du Puits and we were able to get all our supplies from the supermarket there and at the market (Wednesday). If you want to go to the beach I would recommend Barneville-Carteret. If you park at the car park at the end of the Route de la Vielle Eglise you have the Cap de Carteret straight ahead, a huge non-touristy beach to the right and a more touristy beach to the left. We also wanted to go to Portbail but we ran out of time. When getting presents to take home go to La Masion du Biscuits, for you've guessed it, biscuits. The owners live on site (Joanne and Sharon) and they both friendly and helpful. We had a really good holiday at Vie Facile and it's somewhere we all want to holiday at again.

Nice pleasant family stayed in our Gite . Lovely to see all the family taking part in the garden activities. The Gite was left in an immaculate condition on departure and we welcome you to book with us again.

“lovely gite, lovely location”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2016

Stayed here July 16th -July 30th, we traveled as a group of 7, our family and grandparents. we had a fabulous holiday, the gite was well equipped and was a great home from home, the kitchen had good cooking facilities the bathrooms were clean and spacious. the accommodation had nice quality furniture and bed linen and the tv had British free-view channels which was nice for evenings. The gardens were spacious and the children had fun in the pool which was consistently 28 degrees which was lovely and refreshing on the hot days and warm enough for cooler days. the games room was great the best we have ever had and the kids loved playing darts, pool, various board games and painting. nothing bad to say about the gite at all, we had a great holiday, The gite is in a great location not far from a lovely village and has good access to many beaches for swimming and rock pooling all 20-40 mins away including utah and omaha. we traveled to cherbourg which was really close at around 40/50 mins but we traveled to Caen for Juno/sword/Gold beaches and this was an easy drive too. The owners of the Gite live on site and were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks Joanne and Sharon for a lovely stay x

It was a pleasure having you stay in our Gite and listening to the children playing in the garden and swimming in the pool. Family time is precious and seeing you all playing team games in the garden even if Oreo did want to join you. Your always welcome here at Viefacile.

“Fantastic Gite!!!”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

We have always wanted to visit Normandy so when we decided to go in July 2013 we could not have found a better gite than Viefacile. Joanne and Sharon are very friendly and always willing to help, sadly we didn’t meet Hannah as she was away camping. The gite has everything you could want and it could comfortably accommodate far more than the three we numbered. We very quickly felt very at home and clearly some thought has gone into the furnishings which has not been the case in other gites we have stayed in. It is in a peaceful and very pretty location. The gite is well equipped and the beds very comfortable. We had plenty of fun in the games room during the evenings and the large garden is beautifully kept. The pool is lovely and there's lots for children to play with in the garden. The main town just down the road has everything you need to keep well provisioned during your stay. All the attractions work out at no more than forty minute drive away apart from Mont Saint Michel. We went to them all and I would highly recommend seeing the submarine in Cherbourg and completing the velo rail. Utah beach is well worth a visit as is Saint Mere Eglise and Point de Hoc but the place that brings the events into perspective is the American cemetery above Omaha beach, a must visit. We visited Mont Saint Michel on our way back to the Saint Malo ferry and just to stand and look up at it was incredible, another must. Do take a walk up to Mount Castre while you are there, you won’t regret it, and you will pass it every time you go to the main town. If we were asked by Joanne and Sharon how to improve anything we would say to just add the Wi Fi connection cost into the overall rental. The gite was perfect for us and we would not hesitate to stay there again. We had a great time!!!

“Clean and cozy gite, great garden”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2013

When we arrived in "Viefacile" we had a warm welcome by the owners. Service was great, owner told us all ins and outs of the gite. Property was well equipped and clean, the interior was very nice, so were the facilities outside. With little kids, it's very good. Lots of toys to play with, nice swimming pool and a large trampoline. For parents, it's good, you can watch your kids from the patio (with a nice glass of wine). Surroundings are also very beautiful and lots to see. We went to several markets in the area, but the one on wednesday in La Haye des Puits is a real recommendation. The least what we liked was leaving after 1 week stay for our home in the Netherlands.
