From the owner

The Safe House is located in Bairro das Colónias, in the city centre, in a 1940’s building, completely renewed. The house itself underwent a large renovation at the end of 2016 and it was our intention to provide it with all the modern comforts, without compromising its identity, its original trait and the characteristics of a 40’s house in Portugal. The sculpted ceilings, doors and portals were kept intact, as well as some of the furniture from that period and objects that already belonged to the house. In the living room you can find the safe, which gives name to the house and belonged to the family. Today, it can be used by our guests as a mini Bar.

The Safe House has three bedrooms at your disposal: the red room with one bunk bed, the blue bedroom with two single beds, which can be put together or stay separated, and the yellow bedroom with a double bed. It also provides a living room with a sofa bed and TV, a fully equipped kitchen, which has a dishwasher, micro-wave, coffee machine and toaster, a washing machine, a dining room, one bathroom and a toilet. We heve a baby crib. The house has Wi-Fi available for the guests.

Neighbourhood

Bairro das Colónias is a typical neighbourhood in which you can find a large variety of commerce, such as grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, laundries, hair salons, antiques stores, and others. As it is located in a very central area of Lisbon, you can easily start discovering the city, by foot or by using public transportation.

2 minutes from home we have the Miradouro do Monte Agudo, a viewpoint with an superb view over Lisbon!! To not lose!!

The nearest subway station, Anjos, is three minutes away; just around the corner you can step on bus number 12, which takes you to Marquês de Pombal/Av da Liberdade and five minutes away there is a tram stop, where you can take the emblematic number 28 tram that drives around the older part of Lisbon.

The Bus 708, 7 minutes away, takes you from Martim Moniz to Parque das Nações, near the river Tejo, a new area of Lisbon with many points of interest like the Oceanarium, Pavilion of Knowledge, Expo Cable Car, Casino of Lisbon, Gardens next to the Tagus River...

By Foot

The historic Bairro da Graça is ten minutes away, Castelo de São Jorge and Bairro de Alfama are twenty minutes away and downtown Lisbon is fifteen minutes away.

There is a proper place for that in the back of house.

Place trash in own recepient every night from Monday to Friday.

Partys are not allowed!!

According to Portuguese law we are obliged to report all our foreign guests to the Immigration Office. Therefore we will need to see your valid passports upon arrival.

Why can't I call Amélia (the owner) before booking?

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Amélia (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Amélia (the owner) a message.

If Amélia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
