Very Good

“A great place to stay”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2016

Brilliant find - great value, Quiet, great facilities and condition. Easy visits - Fougeres, Ernee, Mayenne, Domfront and others...all with a chateau or church or gallery or park to visit....lunch out and then back to 'home' to swim, relax or play table tennis. Try the Velo-rail (10km away at Ambrieres Les Vallees) or ask at the local Mairie to use the village tennis courts in Saint Berthevin la Tanniere! Herce, Gorron and Levare have everything you could need for food and drink. Market days in region good. Mont St Michel about 1hr 15 away if you want to get onto the main tourist routes...but staying here we didn't need to. Only thing to check is the traffic if you are driving down - sometimes the Pont du Normandie can be busy so finding an alternative route can be a good idea. Happy to recommend after a fun and relaxing week.

“We were blown away by the beauty and tranquility of this French farmhouse.”

Booking our stay at La Danvoliere was simple and easy. Our holiday required little planning as the owners of the property provided us with all the information we needed about the farmhouse as well as the local area. The farmhouse itself was beautiful especially the bedrooms which were very spacious and all individual with lovely finishing touches. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and again spacious. The outdoor pool was a huge hit with our children who spent every spare moment in it. We loved the peaceful location but also enjoyed family days out. During our stay we visited the historic towns of Feugeres, St Malo and Dinard as well as Ange Michael where we discovered an excellent theme park for the children. A highly recommended holiday for all the family.

“Lovely house with lots to do”

A very good house with plenty of room for the five children in our party to spend time indoors on a rainy day. The kids loved the bikes in the games and spent hours on end cycling with minimal supervision because the house is located on a secure site with minimal traffic. There is also lots to see in surrounding towns. Fougeres castle and town are a definate must see.

“Fantastic place to stay!”

La Danvoliere is a great place to stay with all the home comforts you require. The barn has been beautifully renovated and is set in pituresque countryside. We had an old man and children with us and the barn was suitable for all ages, from having a barbecue in the evenings or cooling down in the pool. There are lots of local places to visit and St. Malo is not too far away. A wonderful holiday!

Many 'easy to reach' picturesque attractions for young and old. The 'Ange Michel' theme park is a real treat for younger children Good quality restaurants and supermarkets are all within easy reach The people in the area are very friendly.

“Tres Bien - The best of France”

Stayed at Danvoliere for 4 nights with my girlfriend. It is an area I know well and it is a very relaxing place to spend a break. We had several trips around the local area and enjoyed coming back to the Barn house to the log fire and a bottle of Red.

“An excellent property for a relaxing holiday”

La Danvoliere is a very well appointed and spacious barn conversion set in quiet countryside. The sheltered patio is ideal for a sunny breakfast or lazy afternoon. Plenty of pretty towns, villages and countryside to visit in the region. Superb market on Wednesday in St HIlaire du Harcouet (c25 km) and local Super U has a brilliant fish counter.

“Great place, excellent facilities”

The home is well equipped and tastefully decorated. It is spacious and in a quite rural location. Supermarkets are only a few minutes drive away, and there is loads to see in the area.

“Fantastic property, lovely location”

What a beautiful barn conversion - spacious, 4 bedrooms, huge lounge & kitchen. I have stayed in a lot of self catering holiday homes in the past & this is up there with the best & the kitchen is the best equipped yet. The surrounding area is excellent with lots to do - the Medieval towns of Fougeres & Vitre are great and its a lovely trip to Mount De St Michel and St Malo. Great value too.
