The Paphos District
Sunny 300 days a year. OK even in November. Situated in West Cyprus, Cyprus is arguably the Mediterranean's most beautiful island, with a relaxed pace of life and friendly welcoming people.
Plenty to do for all ages and interests including the spectacular Akamas National Park, Troodos mountains, sparkling blue seas, magnificent mountain and coastal scenery and wonderful historic cities & towns to be explored.
Polis and Latchi are adjacent small coastal towns. 30km from Polis, Paphos is a lively holiday resort with a revamped pedestrianised harbour area loaded with shops and cafe bars. An all winter resort too, unlike the East side which tends to close down in the Winter. A lot more hilly and green too, compared with the Larnaca area. Near to Aphrodites Bath, a major tourist attraction. Less commercialised than the east. Lovely sunsets over the sea.
Villa is on edge of national park, Akamas, a peninsula totally unspoilt, with unsurfaced roads to white sandy beaches, often secluded. Lovely scenery too. Fantastic views from the hills, through the pine trees, and olive groves. Just 10km from Neo Chorion. Hire a quad bike for a bit more excitement!
Visit Latchi - reataurants by the sea. marina, and classy shops. Sought after area and frequented by rich and famous! Polis, which in Greek means town, is on the wide Chrysochous Bay that runs along the northwest sweep of Cyprus from the tip of the Akamas Peninsula to Pomos Point, at the start of Cyprus' Tylliria wilderness.
Polis, about 10 mins drive, offers the ideal holiday for those who appreciate authenticity and seek rest and tranquillity in a pleasant and friendly environment, which blends mountains and plain with a wonderful healthy climate, particularly warm clear seas and secluded beaches.
It's a laid-back sort of place with lots of old-fashioned nooks and crannies, in addition to a picturesque central pedestrian area mostly given over to tavernas, restaurants (with some of the best and most affordable dining to be had in the whole of Cyprus) and shops. The leisurely pace of life here is a welcome sign of just how different things are in this part of Cyprus.
Nonetheless, Polis is considered to be an excellent location for those who enjoy active holidays, whether on land or sea. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, water-skiing, wind-surfing, scuba diving, horse riding and golf - to name but a few! (Tsada golf course is just 25 minutes away from Polis).

"Best villa ive stayed in Cyprus, in the best area!"
The villa was in excellent condition, very clean inside and out. Best thing is the area it's situated, on top of a hill overlooking the whole Polis bay. Had a fully furnished kitchen, and a barbeque outside (which was put to good use). Also, though there are other villas the sense of privacy is not invaded. The owner was very prompt in his emails on any questions I've asked and provided good service. Minor snag, the pool light was not functioning, but it wasn't something trivial to fix. As a bonus free WiFi was present in the house! Recommended !

I have just got back from staying at this fantastic villa. We stayed for a week from the 8th - 15th September 2011. We booked car hire through Europcar and drove ourselves to the villa. We flew into Paphos and it took approx 60 min to get to the villa due to not knowing the roads. The directions were brilliant and we found it with no problems. The villa has all mod cons and there was bread and milk in the fridge when we got there :-) There was also a nice bottle of wine which was a happy sight after the travelling. The next morning we had out welcome meeting which was fantastic. We found out where the supermarket was (paps) and the best places to eat on the harbour. The Villa was extremely clean and fresh when we arrived. There are French doors leading out to the back of the villa from the downstairs bedroom and there is also a balcony out of the master bedroom, with exceptional views of the peninsula and Latchi. All local amenities are no more than a five min drive away and Paphos (when you get to know the roads) is only a 30-40 min drive away. During our stay we went to the Baths of Aphrodite: http://www.ultimatecyprus.com/places-of-interest/26-baths-of-aphrodite which was brilliant. Not that much to see however, there is a nature trail you can walk along the coast to the rock. Aphrodite Bath was only about 10 mins drive. We also went to the mosaics in Paphos (well worth a trip if your in the area) http://www.visitpafos.org.cy/Paphos_Mosaics.aspx The pool was a lot larger than we imagined and was a great relief from the mid day heat. There is decking with tables and chairs which is great in the evenings for eating and taking it the views. The locals are very friendly and always talk to you and make you feel welcome. I would recommend Y&P if you are dining out in Latchi. We went here 3 times and had a great verity of meat and fish dishes. Overall the villa and surrounding area is amazing! I will be booking again for next year….but for longer.
