Sempronas Stone Inn

A dream holiday in a traditional Cretan Inn whose history goes back for more than a century. Well hidden under the shades of perennial Chestnuts and Plane trees, Sempronas Inn offers the opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful and pure areas of Cretan nature.

Dating back to 1900’s, Sempronas Inn has now been lovingly restored based on an ecological and bioclimatic philosophy. Electricity and hot water are produced by solar energy while the central heating in the house is produced by the fireplace. Stones, mud and wood are uniquely combined and transformed into a cozy holiday house where guests can relax and fill with energy to explore breathtaking landscapes and enjoy authentic outdoor activities. Sempronas Inn is located in Sempronas, a mountainous village of 130 permanent residents in Platanias area, 34 km from the city of Chania. The scenery offers incomparable natural beauty composed by 80 natural springs and forests of ancient plane and chestnuts trees. Crystal clear waters of all these springs end up in the river Semproniotis, creating a perfect climate for the area.

Located only fifty minutes from Chania’s International Airport, Sempronas Inn is easily accessible for both international and domestic guests.

Sempornas Inn can act as a natural base for guests to explore within less than 30 minutes drive various destinations, the picturesque old town of Chania, the famous Omalos plateau, numerous gorges with trekking paths and the turquoise waters of the southern cost (e.g. Sougia).

The house is ideal for short/long stay visitors, for couples and families or for large groups (up to 15 people) who are looking for a place to host seminars, workshops and common activities, as there is a 80 square meters attic, divided in two spaces, with a wooden floor. About ten guests can be accommodated in the attic, sleeping on single beds and futon mattresses.

Please note the tap water is not quite drinkable so we suggest that you have some bottles of water with you.

A welcome basket is offered (with coffee, sugar, honey, jam, fruits, tsikoudia, olive oil).

Please note that since there is not a landline, we can only offer wifi via 4G and bandwidth is limited to 5GB per month, so we kindly ask you to use it with moderation. You can of course ask us to charge the usb with more bandwidth (extra charge upon request).
