“,Great place, many extras, comfy beds, nice hot tub.”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2018

Conveniently located property of good size, nice walking areas nearby, good sea view. Plenty of good food and drink venues to walk or drive to. loved the hot tub. So many extras provided, even milk and flowers. Good value for money.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review glad you enjoyed your stay. Mandy

“Nice cottage with hot tub!”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2017

Cottage was very comfortable, loads of space with a nice secluded garden. We made loads of use of the hot tub! The decking area was a perfect spot to read a book and enjoy a view of the sea. Kitchen kitted out for making simple meals. Nice pub within a short walk. Isle of Portland was lovely although having to drive through Weymouth to go further afield got a little tedious. Dorset is fabulous a week was too short to do it justice.

“Perfect Weekend Away”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2017

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend in this perfect cottage. It's very well equipped with everything you need. It was a great base for all the attractions and we were blessed with amazing weather. We enjoyed a coastal walk to Portland lighthouse which is on the doorstep of Fishermans Cottage and the views from the bedroom were idyllic. The hot tub was a great way to start and end the day! I can not fault it and we were sad to leave.

“Lovely, peaceful, well equipped.”

We had a fabulous time at Fisherman's cottage. The cottage was clean, light and perfect for a quiet holiday with a group of friends. The fresh flowers and fruit were a lovely touch and we'd definitely book again. The only slight issue we had was ceiling height, one of our group was rather tall and some of the entrances are low.

“Lovely cottage, amazing views, perfect location.”

Lovely cosy cottage, everything you need for a great holiday, kitchen well equipped, washing machine and dryer really useful. Lovely sun room to relax in after a days walking. Stunning scenery and wonderful walks along the Coastal path which is literally on the door step. Bedrooms comfortable and plenty of storage space. We as Grand Parents were grateful for the beautiful ensuite room, the other bedrooms and family bathroom were ideal for our Daughter, her husband and two teenage girls. Our only little complaint was that Bath towels are provided, but only one hand towel in each bathroom. That aside, fresh fruit and flowers on arrival add a lovely thoughtful touch.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments, in future I'll make sure there are extra hand towels.

A beautiful cottage in an ideal location. The owner seems to have her finger on what a guest would appreciate on their stay. For example a bowl of fresh fruit and a vase of flowers. Fisherman's Cottage is a must for any visitors to Portland who appreciate a home from home. I know we do and have no hesitation in booking for next year too.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review, we try and make the cottage as homely as possible. Look forward to seeing you in the future I'm sorry I didn't see you this time but I was away myself, Joanne said you where enjoying your stay. Thank you again.

“Warm, cosy cottage with lovely sea and cliff view.”

We had a lovely Christmas week at Fisherman's Cottage, which was excellently equipped with central heating, fully fitted kitchen and washing machine/ tumble drier. So even when the weather was bad we knew we'd come back and be able to take our wet things off in the large reception hall, have tea and coffee, and get everything dry for the next day! The scenery and walks around Portland are stunning - must see is the Tout Sculpture Park with views along Chesil Beach, and make sure you buy a cream tea down at Lobster Pot, Portland Bill Lighthouse. Our thanks to owners for help during our booking, and welcome-hamper on arrival. Would be a brilliant place to be during the 2012 Sailing Olympics!!
