- Very Good
A lovely cottage well situated for Holmsfirth and nearby the tour de Yorkshire route. Spacious well apportioned rooms and nicely finished homely cottage that's dog friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
“Love this place ”
Stayed at Ford Cottage for the weekend with my family. The cottage is spacious, beautifully designed and has everything you need for a retreat away from home. Love the location great for walking trails and with a pub serving great food and drink next door what more do you need! We took our dog and now know we need to install a dog shower at our house - just ideal after wet walks. Open real fires to keep you cosy added to the experience. Hopefully will be back, would recommend.
“Perfect New Year getaway”
Our group of 7 had a lovely stay at Ford Cottage. The house has plenty of room and is furnished to a high standard with a lovely mix of old and new.The dining room is bigger than it looks in the photos and is separate from the kitchen. The living room has big comfy sofas and the house was tastefully decorated for Xmas. The internal garage was great for storage and leaving muddy boots. The area is great for walks, the pub next door is mainly for food and is okay but there is a better one, the Huntsman Inn, just along the road. All in all a great find.
“Beautiful cottage, fantastic location”
Ford Cottage is finished to the highest standard with the most gorgeous kitchen. It was as clean as a whistle when we arrived and toasty warm There is plenty of room for 8 people with a spacious lounge. The master bedroom is enormous with a walk in dressing area as well as the en-suite There is no DVD player (that we found) but the TVs have ports on them so you could bring one with you We will be back!
“Wonderful home for a week”
A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, furnished and equipped to a high standard. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds comfortable. The master bedroom was a treat. The lounge had plenty of comfortable seats for the family and the dining room table was big enough to seat us all. The owner was most helpful with some local information we required. I hope we will get the opportunity to stay in Ford Cottage again.
“A palatial place”
The whole house was splendid, with enough space for sit-down dinners and a lovely lounge. All the bedrooms were very nice and the master bedroom was fantastic!
“First class accomodation”
This was our family base for a wedding. A beautiful cottage in a stunning location it was everything we looked for first class service and accomodation thank you xx
“An excellent venue for a Ruby Wedding”
My sister and I booked Ford cottage for our parents 40th wedding anniversary celebration; a weekend away with their children and ours. The cottage can more than comfortably accomodate 8 adults (we were 7 plus 1 child), and then we invited 6 of our parents closest and oldest friends to join us for the actual anniversary day. The cottage is outstanding; the quality and finish so high the price is a steal, the amenities, facilities, and equipment leave you wanting for nothing. The smaller touches excite the sensors like the heated floor under the kitchen, and the touch sensitive hob. The whole cottage excites every visitor, every bit about it was a delight and a joy. Modern styling in a traditional farmhouse setting. We'd like to think that one day, we will return.
“Fabulous stay at Ford Cottage”
How can I start? What an amazing venue to hold my parents Ruby wedding Anniversary weekend. People who stayed at the cottage aged from 2 yrs to 65 yrs. This cottage is beautiful, I really wanted to stay. The attention to detail is immense. All appliances in the kitchen are high tech and the underfloor heating is so powerful! Plenty of plates, bowls, glasses etc so need to bring own (we did take our own champagne glasses thou as we were having a few people over for afternoon drinks) The sitting room is rather grand and quite big. The dining room cosy. I love how there are plenty of spaces to sit in this cottage as there are lots of window seats. The bedrooms are all spacious and the master bedroom is huge with a beautiful feature window. The views from every window in this cottage are just so picturesque. Bed sheets and towels are supplied which helped with not having to pack much. The shower in the main bathroom is amazing and the bath so deep. The furniture that is in every room is so eloquent. It def makes this refurbishment complete. The electric garage and doggy shower just adds to the extras. We dined one night in the pub next door and then the next night we ordered from the pub again but this time asked if we could eat it in the cottage. What a marvellous idea. The only downside I would say to this property is that it could do with a downstairs toilet but I would not let this put anyone off as you need to visit as you will not be disappointed. I hope to be back in the future. What an amazing place to stay!
“Well-furnished, highly accomodating, great location - beautiful cottage”
We stayed during the Tour de France weekend and arrived to a beautifully furnished cottage with a welcome package including a cheese platter, beers and a local bottle of wine. The pub's food next door was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything we needed at the cottage was provided which helped us all to have a brilliant weekend, would recommend it to anyone, especially to cyclists and walkers!
