Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation in La Guislain. Hosts Ann and Dave very friendly and helpful., could not of found a better area after returning from the hustle of the beaches each evening.. As the general said "we shall return". Many thanks Rod,Bridget,Alan Anne

“Rural retreat between the coasts”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2012

We had a wonderful time staying at this gite. It is set in peaceful Normandy countryside, surrounded by fields, set back from the road with a large garden - great for breakfast outside or evening sundowners. The owners, Anne and Dave, made us feel really welcome and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The living room was light and spacious, decorated tastefully with those touches that make you feel relaxed; good cooking area and barbecue. Bedrooms had plenty of storage space and very good beds - slept so well. Large bathroom with plenty of hot water. Great value for money. 10min drive is the village of Hambye, providing two boulangerie for crossants and baguettes, a boucherie and small supermarche. We enjoyed several trips to the D-day beaches with their fantastic museums, learning so much of interest. Then there is the Bayeux tapestry - wonderful account of another Norman invasion, but in the opposite direction; there are interesting parallels. In contrast the coast near Mont Saint Michel provided lovely walks, watching the harvesting of mussels (which provide an excellent lunch!) and sand yatching - you can have a go for a small charge. Both coasts are about an hour's drive. We will definitely be back!

“Well worth a this comfortable accomodation”

A very warm and welcoming Gite, Anne-Marie the owner was very pleasant and a great host for her property , This was our first visit to france , arriving late we were welcomed with bread wine butter milk and ham ,left for us The Gite was well laid out with Three great bedrooms with plenty of storage space and hanging space in each room. and very comfortable beds, Satellite TV English channels (Great for the olympics) and soap addicts well Equipped plenty of every thing for a family of 6. Situated in a quiet lane (no rowdy neighbours) easy to get around ,with fantastic road network , well worth the visit . The only down side was the sun didn`t shine every day,,Oh well we cant have it all Thank you Anne -Marie
