Description

La Maison Sans Souci is a charming farmhouse set in the beautiful Normandy countryside a short drive from the village of Hambye. Our two gites, Le Coquelicot and Le Bleuet, are in the converted barn next to the farmhouse and have their own garden with children's play area, above-ground pool, and games room. Le Bleuet gite sleeps 6 and Le Coquelicot gite sleeps 5. Both can be booked together for larger groups.

Le Coquelicot has recently been refurbished to provide a more comfortable stay, and is perfect for couples exploring the area and families.

The gites are located a twenty minute drive from beautiful sandy beaches of the Normandy west coast that never seem to get busy. The warm shallow sea is lovely for swimming and at low tide you can watch the local farmers with their tractors tending the acres of oyster and mussel beds.

A 5 minute drive away is the village of Hambye with its boulangerie for warm French bread and croissants in the morning. It also has a butchers, a small supermarket for everyday needs, a bar/tabac, and two small weekly street markets. Newly opened (June 2014) is the little bar/restaurant, L'Adresse, serving both a lunchtime and evening menu everyday up until September. A little further away is the restaurant at the Auberge de L'Abbee, which has a wonderful ambiance. The varied menu provides a perfect choice for a special meal. The nearby romantic ruins of the Benedictine Hambye Abbey set on the banks of the River Sienne, are also a fascinating place to explore with some beautiful walks round about.

The area provides the perfect opportunity for fishing, walking, cycling, and exploring the cider orchards, as well as sampling delicious food and drink; cheese, cider, pommeau and calvados.

Why can't I call Anne-Marie (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Anne-Marie (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Anne-Marie (the owner) a message.

If Anne-Marie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
