To your left, a convenient kitchen with a five-burner Ambassador range, sided-by-side fridge and freezer, and dual wine storage units will make meals a pleasure to prepare. But as inviting as this is, Villa Gouverneur View's main attraction is directly ahead, where a wide pool shimmers in the sun before a dazzling vista of the Caribbean Sea, the islands of St. Kitts and Nevis often visible in the distance. Walk out on the teak deck and you can see the whole expanse of the lush Gouverneur hillside spilling down to the white-sand beach below.
On the shaded area of the terrace, large comfortable sofas make an ideal spot for a quiet afternoon read or after-dinner conversation. If what you want is more sun or to relax under the stars, retire to a deck chair out beside the pool. A glass-topped rattan dining table with seating for eight is sheltered from the sun and yet does not hide the stunning view.
Villa Gouverneur View's two bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the main house, providing an optimal balance of privacy and convenience. They are equally well appointed, boasting king-size beds, writing desks and daybeds, flat-screen televisions and ample closet space. Each one has an attached travertine-tiled bathroom with dual vanities and indoor and outdoor showers. Sliding glass doors open onto the deck and look out over the magnificent expanse of sea, with traditional wood-shutter windows lending the rooms a West Indies charm. Follow the stairs down from east end of the deck and you discover a fitness room, complete with treadmill, step, rowing and bike machines and a convenient shower, as well as a spacious wood-paneled sauna. The idyllic view of palm trees and the shimmering sea could help make anyone's workouts more frequent. A secluded outdoor space provides the perfect spot for morning yoga or an afternoon massage, and a new pavilion provides a shaded spot for relaxing with a book or sharing evening cocktail hour.
