Trinidad and Tobago offer completely different experiences of the Caribbean, small Tobago is laid back and scarcely developed, often called the pearl of the Caribbean, while Trinidad is thriving and busy. Both islands have wonderful beaches, while cosmopolitan Trinidad buzzes with festivals, mostly centred on the capital Port of Spain, Tobago is unspoilt and tranquil.

Wonderful secluded holiday getaway
We arrived on April 15th, hired our car at the airport and made our way to the villa where we were met by the affable Colin who showed us around and gave us some tips on places to visit during our stay. First impressions were ' Wow, what a view!'~ the property is high up and this means that there is a great vista of the sea and the towns below. The gardens are filled with all kinds of amazing flowers and plants with mangoes, grapefruit and mandarins among others and we saw lizards, hummingbirds, mot mots as well as having visits from the local chickens.
We visited a few of the beaches, the best being Pigeon Point which is well worth the few dollars it costs to get in and then to hire sunbeds.
We went on a tour of the island and enjoyed swimming at the Argyll waterfalls and a stop off at Castara where we watched the locals pulling in their fishing nets from our seats at the bar on stilts. Another trip out saw us going to Fort King George at Scarborough, which was full of local history, and a short visit to Bacolet beach where the Swiss family Robinson was filmed in 1975. We enjoyed breakfasting at House of Pancakes, at the turn off to Pigeon Point, and also a drink and fries at Legger's bar near Mount Irvine bay, our local beach. We ate at the villa most nights, making full use of the barbecue, and got some really excellent meat from the meat shop at Golden Grove. A special mention for a place to visit is Sunday School at Buccoo, just down the road, where you can enjoy a steel band and a bit of a flutter on a version of roulette.
The villa is homely, the pool table a source of evening entertainment and the pool affording a welcome dip during the heat of the day.
Everyone we met was really friendly and welcoming; All the neighbours say hello and we felt really welcomed by everybody we met.
Our two week stay was over before we knew it. Check-in at the airport was a very easy going experience as the airport is so small, but get your souvenirs before you leave as you can only really buy cigarettes and alcohol in duty free.
Would recommend as a great place to stay as it is so easy to get to everything but a car is a necessity as you are 500ft above sea level and up a winding road, which is why you have such wonderful views. This island is well worth a second visit as there is so much to see and do. …
Tranquility in Paradise
I have stayed at Eternity Villa on my last two trips to Tobago. I consider it home away from home. On both occasions I brought my family and the house was more than accomodating for everyone. Located in Mt Irvine and amazing views of the golf course and ocean are all bonuses! The quiet residential neighborhood is perfect for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. Most of the activities at Eternity Villa center around the pool, as the fantastic shutter windows of the living room open up to bring the outdoors inside. I enjoy the openness of Eternity Villa as every room on the main floor has access to outside and amazing natural light.
The villa provides all that is needed on a vacation and more. It has three comfortable bedrooms, all with large comfortable four-poster beds, one king size and two queen size. The Master Bedroom opens directly onto the pool deck and the Upstairs Bedroom has its own balcony/roof terrace with magnificent sea views to the Caribbean and Buccoo Reef. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, two of which are en-suite. For those that enjoy golf, there is access to one of the best golf courses in the Caribbean by the turn of a key from the property. The large veranda and pool deck equipped with comfortable furniture allows you to enjoy meals and conversations with your friends or family all while outdoors.
The location of Eternity Villa is very central and the beach is walking distance through the golf course or a quick 2 minute drive. There are lot of local shops, supermarkets, restaurants and beaches within a 5-10 minute drive. One of my favorite bars in Tobago, Moon Over Water is a 5 minute drive away which lies between Mt Irvine beach and Grafton Beach.
Transportation to and from the Scarborough or airport is easy as David (Villa Manager) can pick you up and drop you off. He's very friendly and always available if anything is needed while staying at Eternity Villa.
There is a fully equipped kitchen plus a laundry room. Included are Phone, Cable TV, Wifi Broadband Internet access, CD, BBQ, Linen, Towels, Maid (4 days pw).
In closing, Eternity Villa provides the charm and beauty that Tobago is known for. The spectacular panoramic views, the tropical garden to pick your own mangoes, papays, guavas, lemons or to simply bird watch, it has it all. Very centrally located on the west coast of Tobago and close to everything. Typing this review has me looking forward to my next stay at Eternity Villa! …
Villa in Englishmans Bay
Very peaceful and spacious home in a great location.
Everything was well prepared when we arrived. Jango (the master gardener and our greeter when we arrived) was very patient and waited for 4 hours as our flight was delayed. The house was well equiped with all the kitchen needs including the most important BBQ grill. Great for cooking the local fish of the day!! Houskeeping came 3-4 times in the week for fresh towels and sheets.
We loved the island and everything it had to offer:
1. The in-house dining experience with Adam was excellent and very reasonable priced. Well recommended for at least one night of your stay.
2. Englishman's bay was one of the nicest beaches and only a 5 minute drive from the villa. The roti lunch at Eula's was fantasick.
3. The hike to the highest point on the Island (Pigeon Point) was challenging, but well worth the trip. The rainforest hike and birdwatching tour (with Peter Cox) was also a great and professional experience.
4. We recommend taking a small fishing boat over to Little Tobago and Goat Island......this was more personalized than the commercial tours offered.
5.Wednesday night at the Boat House was a blast. Steel drum night and the place was packed.
6. You have to buy a loaf of homemade (dirt oven) bread in Castera. Three old ladies have been making the bread for generations.
7. 2 words of caution....take as much TT's as possible. The only ATM's that dispensed cash for us were in Scarborough or Crown point. Also, the grocery stores outside of Crown point/Scarborough have very limited groceries. Buy as much as possible when Jango takes you shopping.
8. Mr. Rattan's rental car service was great. Great car, great service. …
Ambassadors House, Windy Edge
An ideal family getaway that isn't far away
Spacious yet cozy, a place where you can be noisy without disturbing the peace or find a secluded spot whilst everyone else is partying. We had a large group and everyone was comfortably accommodated. The location was very private yet close to all amenities. Just be careful of what's left outside as 'Goldy' would surely get hold of it. …
Villa Kiskadee Tobago
The best villa I've rented in Tobago
The villa is situated near to Crown Point and is located close to two of Tobago's best beaches. The villa is beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. It suited myself, my mum and my two children perfectly. The kitchen was very well equipped and the pool lovely.. Deon and Beverly who look after it were brilliant and took great care of us. I felt very secure as well and fantastic restaurants etc nearby. No need to hire a car. Will most certainly look forward to returning to villa Kiskadee soon. …

Edinburgh Villas (Executive & Professional)
Home away from home
We live in London and decided to stay at Edinburgh Villas Chaguanas during our two week vacation.
The communication with both Ryan and Shoba before and during our stay was prompt, concise and professional. Shoba (the property manager), was very attentive and went far beyond all expectations to make our stay as comfortable as possible. (Thanks Shoba for the lovely complimentary breakfast you delivered to us on the morning after we arrived). She recommended great places to visit and dine and made herself available to us 24/7 should we have any queries or requests. This proved to be unnecessary since the apartment was furnished with everything we needed. Edinburgh Villas again went beyond expectations by providing a welcome basket of local treats and fruits as well as cleaning up products for washing up dishes and clothes.
The apartment is located about a 5 minutes drive away or 15mins walk away from the Chaguanas town centre although there are a few restaurants just a 5 min walk away. There is a park on the adjacent street where you can do your daily exercise before you start your day.
Shoba even recommended superb a local hairdresser on the adjacent street where I had barnet done (on a Sunday!)
I highly recommend not just the apartment but more importantly, the fantastic service provided by Edinburgh Villas. It far surpassed the service provided by the 'high end' hotels we've stayed at in Trinidad on our many travels there. Please keep up the heat work you guys do!! …
The Fort Cottage
Lovely comfortabel historic cottage!!
Great cottage. Wonderful garden, great views over the bay and the city, wonderfully helpful owners. Everything you need is available at the Cottage. Location is great too, close to both sides of the island and to Scarborough and all the shops. If you go to Tobago there is no other place you should stay!!! …
