Location description from owner
The Paphos District
As the capital of Cyprus for 600 years in antiquity, the archaeological legacy of Pafos is such that UNESCO put the whole city on its World Cultural Heritage List. It is no wonder that Paphos has been nominated to represent Cyprus at the European Cultural City Awards 2017.The region offers the possibility of combining sea and mountains as well as getting a taste of culture with its many archaeological sites.Feel the romance in the air in the land where Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, once roamed. Swim in the sea by the rocks known as Petra tou Romiou where she was believed to have risen from the waves, make a pilgrimage to her sanctuary at Kouklia, or visit the grotto near Polis where she was supposed to have bathed - The Pafos region is the perfect place to celebrate a wedding or go for your honeymoon. Admire the intricate floor mosaics in villas dating back to the Roman period depicting scenes from Greek mythology, considered among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean. Equally impressive are the underground Tombs of the Kings carved out of solid rock and decorated with Doric pillars. Or visit St. Pauls Pillar where legend has it, the Apostle was flogged before converting the Roman governor, Sergius Paulus, to Christianity, and making Cyprus the first country in the world to be governed by a Christian.Admire the view at Maa-Paleokastro, the site on a peninsula near Coral Bay, where the Mycenaean Greeks first landed in Cyprus in the Bronze Age.
Pafos town, with its pleasant harbour and medieval fort, combines a cosmopolitan holiday resort, spectacular countryside and historical sites. Explore inland by going on a wine tour of the villages, stopping off at Chrysorrogiatissa monastery with its fine icons where you can get a taste of the locally produced vintage wine from its own winery. Or indulge in one of the many activities available, from playing a round of golf at a premier golf resort, indulging in a sea sport, such as swimming, diving or sailing, or going for the thrill of a water park or karting centre.Relish mouthwatering delicacies at the numerous restaurants serving both local and international cuisine and offering exceptional value. Enjoy classical opera under the stars in the romantic setting of the medieval castle overlooking Pafos harbour during the various summer festivals. Or jive to the latest dance tunes at a plethora of entertainment spots, part of the modern towns varied nightlife. Pafos won't disappoint you.

- Very Good
This is the second time we have rented this villa. As before, it was an excellent stay. The villa has everything and is finished to a very high standard. The town of Emba has a very good restaurant next to the church and there is a supermarket selling almost everything within 10 minutes. The car rental recommended (Elephant Rentals) is much better and cheaper than the Airport - based Hertz and Avis. They will deliver and pick up at your door or airport (or both). We had a new Nissan Note for a week at about 100 Euros. They have a fleet of 32 cars. The weather in late March was perfect.
Thank you for your brilliant review. We were so pleased to be able to welcome you back to the villa. We look forward to you, your family or friends visiting again. Jayne & John
“Brilliant - didn't want to leave.”
The villa is ideally situated for us. A quiet area with no noise, so peaceful, peaceful peaceful! A well appointed villa with a pool, not too far from Paphos airport, and town, but far enough away to be almost rural. Towns and villages are not too far away so as to provide a variety of places to eat and drink when necessary. But with its own well appointed kitchen we ate in a lot and enjoyed the villa. This was our 3rd time there and we don't usually revisit holiday destinations. Couldn't be bettered and Jane and John were excellent hosts.
“PERFECT FAMILY VILLA”
This was our first time staying in a villa and Villa Kalandia was perfect for us. There were five of us (including our teenage daughter) and everyone agreed it was a good choice. The villa was clean and comfortable and the dishwasher and washing machine came in very handy. In fact, all the kitchen equipment you could possible need was available. We made good use of the lovely pool and also used the BBQ several times. Villa Kalandia is in the quiet area of Emba and you do need a car. We only went into Paphos a couple of times as we preferred to eat in the more local tavernas/restaurants. A highlight was our trip to the Troodos Mountains where we had a fabulous lunch that we are still talking about! Any minor problems in the villa were quickly resolved and the owners were helpful and easily reached. We would all love to return sometime soon.
“Home away from home.”
This was our second time to Cyprus and our second stay in this villa. It truly is a home away from home! It is very well appointed, is always clean and tidy and has everything you need and more whilst on vacation. The pool is a godsend and the new BBQ, allows for lovely family dinners around the pool. John and Jayne are forever looking for ways to make ones stay more comfortable, and the addition of the ceiling fans has certainly done that. My hubby was also really happy that he was able to watch the sport at the villa with a cold beer in hand! The villa is also really well located, making it easy to go sightseeing or for a meal at the local tavernas. We will definitely be rebooking for our next Cyprus getaway!
“Fantastic holiday - first class accommodation”
This villa is in the perfect location, close enough to Coral Bay and Paphos but far enough away for some peace and quiet too. The place is very well maintained, well equipped and with the management team on hand nothing is a problem. Nice pool area and plenty of beach towels too. This was my fourth visit and I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone, whether you're a couple wanting a quiet holiday or a family. With the supermarket just down the road it really is a home from home and with wall to wall sunshine and great temperatures this really was a fab holiday.
“Perfect Villa, Perfect Location, Perfect Holiday”
Staying a Villa Kalandia was perfect. I had never been to Cyprus before and took the advice of friends to visit this location. The villa is stunning, well kept and very welcoming. Every facility is there from air-conditioning, Sky TV (not that you need it with the rest of the facilities), large outside area with a fantastic size swimming pool, sunbathing areas and also shaded areas to cool off. BBQ and terraced areas. The location is great day or night. In the evenings you can take a short drive into Coral Bay or Paphos. Coral Bay has great food and evening entertainment right on the beach. Alternatively you can go into Paphos where you couldn't ask for more, from shopping, restaurants, evening entertainment or bars and night life if that's what you prefer. Both locations are great in the day for beaches to relax or be a bit more adventurous with some water sports. Loved the Villa Loved the Location Loved the Holiday Need to go back ASAP :-)
I have stayed at Villa Kalandia twice in the last couple of years. Each time as a group holiday and we all had a lovely time and would recommend it. Villas was very clean and spacious, rooms were a very good size and the pool was great in the heat! Great location just out side of town so perfect for a relaxing girlie holiday. Will be back again asap. Molly
“A well appointed villa with the perfect location.”
My husband and I were looking for a cosy place to go and enjoy a sunny vacation. We were recommended to go to Cyprus and to stay at Villa Kalandia. We are very pleased with the advise given as the villa was perfect for what we wanted. The villa is very well appointed. It has everything that you need, so just bring your swimmers, sunscreen and sunglasses. The swimming pool is a blessing. It is serviced regularly and perfect for cooling off. Sun lounges are also provided to laze around the pool. The garden is also very well maintained and the scent from the fruit trees as you arrive is sweet and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning to this little gem in Paphos!
