“Great big family get together location”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2018

I booked this cottage to bring together my family which live different ends of England. It’s becoming an annual tradition for us all, and this location is the best we’ve booked so far. We had the whole of the cottage which meant we had 4 double rooms, 2 twin rooms, then then 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens and 2 dining rooms. It worked out fantastic as we were all able to get together and eat at one big dining room and relax in one of the living rooms, and when some of the others wanted a bit of quiet time they had the other living room to relax in. Kitchens were equipped with everything we needed so we cooked breakfasts for 11 of us most mornings, home cooked pizzas and lunches for all. Although the cottage is right on the cross roads, we were a bit worried this may cause a problem with traffic noise, but it really wasn’t that bad. It worked out well for my Nan too as it was only a short stroll across the road to the pub for Sunday lunch, as well as the craft centre up the road too. Sherwood Forest was right next to it too which was great for the kids to burn off some energy. We absolutely loved it and would definitely book again!

Owner's reply: Thank you for a lovely review, we very pleased the cottages offered such a great place for the whole family. Look forward to welcoming you again. Don't forget if you need extra space you can always book the annex with the 2 extra double bedrooms and the ensuite!

“Great accommodation in great location”

I stayed here with a large group of friends at the end of September. The cottage was beautiful and very comfortable. We had a great time and I would recommend the accommodation to anyone looking to explore Sherwood Forest.

“This is a perfect coyyage for a family get together!”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2016

We spent 3 nights in the cottage to attend the wedding of my son. There were 9 of my family there from 19 year olds to a 75 year old and we had a great time. Facilities were ideal and the cottage was situated very close to the church for the wedding. Couldn't have picked a better accommodation.

“Even more beautiful than the pictures”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2014

We stayed at the cottages for a family holiday, and it exceeded our expectations. They are spacious, well equipped, and furnished to a very high standard. All the furniture is very good quality and in immaculate condition. Every one of us commented on how lovely and comfortable the beds were. The bath in the Maid Marion house is beautiful, and the shower in the Robin Hood is wonderful. The fireplaces are a lovely touch- it was nice and cosy having a log fire burning at night. Nearby there are plenty of nice places to eat and drink. There is a miniature steam railway and play area for the kids about 10 mins drive away, and plenty of interesting National Trust places/stately homes to visit within 30mins from the cottages.

“A gem in the heart of Nottinghamshire”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2014

Beautiful traditional accommodation set in the heart of Sherwood Forest. A home from home. The cottages are wonderfully nostalgic and beautifully furnished and provide the base for a comfortable holiday. The garden provides a relaxed external environment perfect for a sunny afternoon lounge and BBQ. Perfect versatility for small families or large groups. Edwinstowe has a lot to offer with Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak right on the door step within a 10 minute walk. Perfect for families or couples wanting to explore the local woodland and fair ground. Within a very short drive are swimming pool facilities and Rufford Country Park. Totally relaxing weekend, my family didn't want to leave. 10/10 Many thanks!

“Fantastic affordable accomodation for CentreParcs & Sherwood Forest”

Reviewed 13 May 2014

Great service from start to finish, the cottage ticked all boxes for location, quality and affordability. We booked the cottages to celebrate a hen weekend with 11 friends and it exceeded all our expectations. It was in a central, easy to find location, it had the flexibility for both eating in or out and was in easy access to both Centre Parcs and Sherwood Forest. The restaurants surrounding the cottage provided great food and drink for our celebrations on the saturday night, but it also had great facilities for either a bbq and a cosy night in with the log fire burning. We really enjoyed it and will be returning.
