The property is ideally located to visit all the delights of Tuscany and Umbria including Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza, Perugia, Assisi, Montone, Gubbio, Siena and Florence. The Tuscany region

There is a lot to see and do in Tuscany/ Umbria, the difficulty is really where to start. Certainly most should start with Florence, then continue on to Siena and Pisa.

The roll call of cities of art is daunting: Arezzo, Cortona, San Gimignano, Perugia and Lucca are all striking. But often smaller locations such as Montepulciano, Assissi, Pienza and Montone are the real gems. The more you come to know the region, the more extraordinary it all appears. Enjoy your visit!

Cortona

Villa San Martino is located in the beautiful Niccone Valley on Tuscan/ Umbrian border. Local shops can be found in Mercatale di Cortona and Lisciano Niccone. These are ideal locations for stocking up on supplies or relaxing in a bar or trattoria. Mercatale di Cortona has three bars, two supermarkets and is home to Trattoria Mimmi, famous for its fresh homemade pasta and really worth more than one visit. The area is rich in olives and vineyards and fruit and vegetables are grown in the area. And we are only 15 minutes from the enchanting, and world-renwned Cortona with cafes and restaurants and views to amaze.
