Very Good

“Highly recommend”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2018

We had a wonderful six night stay at the Stables in late July. From the outset, communication was great and Katriona was very helpful when we needed to amend our original dates. The property is situated in a quiet and quaint hamlet, just a short stroll from Charlecote Park. It overlooks the owners beautiful gardens and is extremely well equipped for short or long stays. There are books galore, dvds to watch (as well as Sky to the delight of my husband) and lots of useful guides to the local area. We really appreciated the little extra touches such as shampoo in the shower room, fresh coffee, milk, tea and even a beautiful lemon cake. Katriona and Rupert were generous and kind hosts. As well as the use of the hot tub, they offered us the use of additional garden areas during the day and even gifted us fresh tomatoes and courgettes which were delicious. There are two pubs with outside seating within short walking distance, plus a National Trust cafe at Charlecote and a small cafe at the garden store along the road. Buses run every half an hour (every hour on sundays) and we enjoyed visits to Leamington in Spa, Stratford and Warwick. If you’re planning a trip to Leamington I’d highly recommend popping in to The Meat Room for locally sourced chicken, pork and beef - their products were amazing! It was wonderful to return to such a beautiful property after the bustle of the larger towns, sink into one of the two cosy sofas and then sleep in a fabulously comfortable bed. We feel very lucky that we spotted the property and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return. Thank you Katriona and Rupert for everything that made our stay so wonderful.

Owner's reply: What a great review- thank you. Hopefully you will visit again.

“Lovely stay”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2017

We had a lovely stay at the stables for a few nights. Hot tub was on for whenever we wanted to use it, owner adjusted the heating for when we would be in as it was chilly that week. The gas fire was nice and cosy. Across the road from Charlecote Park and short drive away from Warwick and Stratford. Build is attached to main house by locked door but we were never disturbed and it remained private. Tea and coffee on arrival. would recommend for an escape for a couple of days

Owner's reply: Glad you had a good stay

just returned from a weekend away .. and I can honestly say this break was so relaxing in the most stunning cottage and location ... the area gives you the opportunity to do much or to to do nothing it's truly a breathtaking part of our country .. katriona and Rupert are wonderful host with the cottage appeasing every need .. the hot tub is such and added bonus that was used several times and complimented the break in every way .. thank you for a much needed thoroughly enjoyed weekend.. we will definitely be returning x

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed it. I definitely think that people,e like the fact they can explore the area, but that the cottage is very cosy and staying in or around the cottage is equally appealing!

“A perfect spot”

Reviewed 10 May 2017

An absolutely fantastic little cottage with so much to see and do right on your doorstep! We stayed here for 3 nights and had the most lovely, relaxing stay. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need and is very comfy, cosy and a perfect little place in which to escape from everyday life. We were lucky enough to have some fantastic weather during our stay and got to enjoy the beautiful gardens in the sunshine....not to mention a few visits to the hot tub which is a welcome addition! Being able to relax in the tub with your favourite music playing surrounded by fairy lights is an extra-special touch. The owners are lovely people who make you feel incredibly welcome without being at all intrusive. There is so much to do in the surrounding area - Charlecote Park is literally over the road and the grounds are perfect for a leisurely stroll and, if you're lucky, you will spot some Deer. We also visited Stratford-upon-Avon (15 minute drive) and the British Motor Museum (20 minute drive) A wonderful stay and we look forward to visiting again in the future!

Owner's reply: That is such a great review. I think it is such a good point that there is so much to do in the area, but the cottage is also just a great place to relax and unwind.. look forward to your next visit.

“Home from Home”

The property was thoughtfully presented providing a homely atmosphere which led you to forget you were in a rental on holiday. The extensive gardens were also extremely well kept, there was nothing more we could have asked for to improve our stay.

Owner's reply: Thank you

“Lovely relaxing holiday cottage with lots to do nearby”

Reviewed 3 Mar 2013

I visited here in February With my mother and stayed for two nights. The cottage is fantastic very well equipped. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. The cottage is set in a beautiful village a stones throw away from Stratford, the deer park is lovely you can see them through the kitchen window. The added bonus is the hot tub which was a lovely end after a day out. I loved this cottage so much that I have booked it in May for my husbands and I 10th anniversary.

Owner's reply: Thank you. When you come back the garden should be looking at its best!

“A perfect relaxing break”

The Stables is a beautiful haven away from busy modern life. We only stayed for three nights but the cottage and its owners offered us the ideal opportunity to recharge our batteries. I can't wait to return in the near future.

Owner's reply: Thank you. Hope to see you again soon. just think how relaxing it would be to sit outside in the summer!

“really lovely home and hot tub is great!”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2012

Me and my husband visited the stables for our 1st wedding anniversary. We wanted to go aomewhere to just do nothing.... The Stables is immaculate and very comfetable and clean. There were big thick towels and robes and cotton bedding which i always feel makes all the difference. I hate polyester bedding :-) Katriona and Rupert were very friendly and helpful and were there to show us around. They even left a chocolate cake and welcome tray for us which was lovely. The sofas are really comfetable as so was the bed. The hot tub is a really nice added extra to relax and listen to music. We did go into Lemington and to the national trust park right next to the house. Its in a perfect location to visit Warwick, Stratford and surrounding areas. All the facilities are available for use so you have no worries during the stay. The garden is beautifully kept and we would defo reccomend. Thankyou for a really nice relaxing weekend!

Owner's reply: We try and make it the sort of place that we would like to visit. Lovely bed linen is high on my own priority list.

“Great cottage, fab location, amazing hot tub”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2012

Lovely cottage, shame it's only big enough for two. Great character, and the hot tub was wonderful to jump into at the end of the day, just after breakfast, before going out to dinner, anytime really! Charlecote and the surrounding area has plenty to do from sight seeing to cycling, and a trip to the local airfield is an anoraks dream. Thoroughly recommend it.

Owner's reply: I am glad you enjoyed your stay - come again!
