Description from owner

Description

Villa Patrignone has 7 large double bedrooms, each with private bathroom, a cavernous kitchen-dining room with large fireplace, and a lovely living room, with high vaulted ceilings, comfortable sofas and a library. The house was built sometime in the 1500s and still has most of its original features.

Each room is tastefully furnished and has its own unique character. Every room has a beautiful view, overlooking the Jasmine Courtyard, our olive groves, or the vineyards around us, and two rooms have 'Juliet' balconies looking west towards the valley and the sunset beyond. You can find descriptions of all the rooms on our website and choose your favourite room before the others do! bit.ly/VillaPatrignone

Two of the bedrooms can also be made up with 2 single beds, so that gives you plenty of flexibility. It's centrally heated, and the wood burner gives a lovely glow (and plenty of heat) for those spring and autumnal evenings.

There is plenty of outdoor space

Two of the bedrooms can also be made up with 2 single beds, so that gives you plenty of flexibility. It's centrally heated, and the wood burner gives a lovely glow (and plenty of heat) for those spring and autumnal evenings.

There is plenty of outdoor space on the Terracotta Terrazza or for occasional al-fresco dining, or you can have evening drinks, meals and chats under the Olive Gazebo right outside your front door. Collect wood from the forest and build a campfire with fireflies twinkling all around you and the nightingales singing in the trees. And of course you can use our lovely swimming pool with it's amazing views.

Podere Patrignone is a beautiful old 15th Century estate ('podere') which has been lovingly and tastefully restored. It is divided into six self-contained apartments or villas, all beautifully furnished in a traditional style. Patrignone sits on top of it's own hill reached by a long, winding private road that ends at Patrignone. It is set in 150 acres of forest, olives and vines, with uninterrupted 360 degree views over the Tuscan valley below. It's the perfect setting for peaceful walks, sunbathing, cycling and exploring.

The swimming pool with one of the best views in Tuscany. Wake up to the mists rising through the trees and the beautiful views of surrounding vineyards, or catch an amazing sunset over the towers of San Gimignano and the snow-capped Apennines on the horizon.

Villa Patrignone will comfortably sleep 14 in 7 double suites (2 of the suites can have 2 single beds or 1 double bed). It has a huge kitchen (complete with a large fridge-freezer and dish-washer) and dining room with large dining table that seats 14, a large living room and library. It is filled with beautiful furniture, large comfortable beds, and the old terracotta tiles and chestnut beams are in evidence everywhere. Two of the rooms have beautiful little balconies looking west towards the valley below and the sunset beyond.

Base prices shown above are for exclusive use of Villa Patrignone using only 4 of 7 bedrooms only (8 people max). Additional rooms may be added, but additional guest prices are based on 2 sharing a room. If your guest is in a room of their own, please add 2 guests to obtain the correct price.

Location description from owner

The Tuscany region

Well, if you taking the time and effort (and expense) to come to Tuscany, you probably have a fair idea of what´s on offer. So we won´t preach to the converted. Needless to say that at Patrignone you are on the doorstep of the greatest concentration of art treasures in the World. I don´t doubt you will visit a museum or two, see a stunning church or two, and visit your fair share of beautiful medieval hill-top towns. It goes without saying. However, do make sure you spend some time seeing a little of the parts of Tuscany that aren't crowded with tourists. Go to a morning market and buy fresh fruit and veg, great fresh fish and hunt for those bargain Italian shoes. Take a picnic into our woods, or sit with a bottle of wine out in the olive groves as sun sets, hoping to spot deer or wild boar. Go to some of the open air hot bubbling springs and soak your body in the same sulphurous waters the ancient Etruscan's lounged in (many of them free).

Castellina In Chianti

Patrignone is right in the middle of Chianti, at the epicenter of Tuscanys cultural treasures, just 10 minutes from the beautiful hill-top town of Castellina in Chianti, with its full compliment of restaurants, cafes and shops (and a small supermarket). Siena is just 35 minutes away, and Florence 40 minutes in the other direction, San Gimignano is 30 mins away, with Volterra the next village along. You really couldnt pick a more central location.Theres no doubt that you'll need a car to get the most of Chiantis nooks and crannies, but if you feel like venturing further afield, within a 1.5-hour drive you'll find white sandy beaches, typically beautiful seaside resorts, dozens of hot springs, and the majesty of the snow-covered Apennines clearly visible from Patrignones terracotta terrace. And if youre into cycling, walking, nature-watching, or ballooning, these activities and more can be easily organised. Just let us know what your interests are, and well give you some options.Local activities: swimming, tennis, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, ski, golf, mountain biking and wine tasting.
