Lovely modern self catering accommodation situated in Fiscavaig, 3 miles from Carbost and the famous Talisker Distillery.

Craighaven was converted to a self catering let in 2017, it is an open plan studio designed to have all the conveniences of home but on a small scale.

Craighaven is a detached building in the grounds of our own home located in Fiscavaig with beautiful views over the bay to Macleods Tables and islands of Loch Bracadale.

The area benefits from 2 pubs serving food, small shop, petrol pump, post office, coffee shop/takeaway, seafood takeaway and the famous Talisker Distillery.

In the Minginish area we are an ideal central base for exploring both the North and South of the Island.

The space -

Craighaven has an open plan living space, there is bedroom area with a comfortable double bed and kingsize bedding with an en suite modern shower room. The cozy lounge area has easy chairs and a dining table/ chairs with a view to the Loch. There are bluetooth ceiling speakers for your own smart device. The TV has a built in dvd player (selection of DVDs provided), freesat and Amazon fire stick for your downtime. Craighaven has a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge/freezer box, microwave, oven, hob, coffee machine and iron. We also provide a hairdryer, bedding, towels, toiletries, tea/ coffee and milk on arrival. Wireless internet is provided but please be aware service is slow on the island, it is adequate for browsing/ emails etc. Please be patient and aware.

Guest access -

Our front garden is fenced and guests will have exclusive use of this during their stay, perfect for watching beautiful sunsets and ideal for four legged visitors too. Access to a washing machine and dryer by arrangement.

Other things to note -

For the convenience of our guests we offer 3 breakfast packages (light, medium and the works) that provide you with the ingredients to prepare your own breakfast in privacy and at a time to suit you. This is an optional extra not included in the price of the accommodation. On booking we will send full details. Please order prior to arrival.

Craig is a keen kayaker and photographer, the surrounding waters are a perfect location for exploring and seeing wildlife. Craig is happy to share his knowledge for anyone interested.

Getting around

Skye is a rural area, the main services are in Portree which is approx 20 miles/ 35km. About 30/40 minutes by car. Measuring 1700 km sq it is a large island and with it's characteristic peninsulas and one way tracks it takes time to traverse and we really do recommend that you need a car or driver to make the most of the beautiful scenery there is on offer. With careful planning to get the most out of your trip it is actually the remoteness of this beautiful Island, the flora, fauna, wildlife and serenity that makes it more enjoyable to get away from it all.

Interaction with guest

Tereska and Craig live in the main house with our labrador. We aim to be home to greet you on arrival and are happy to help with any queries when we are home. Our contact details are provided for other eventualities. Our dogs is separated from the let by fencing so you don't have to encounter her unless of course you want to.
