From the owner

Our retreat has lovely sea views of Loch Eishort from the comfort of a furnished living room with plenty of seating and natural light. It has off-road parking in a gated garden. Being at the bottom of the village, it has very little through traffic and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. There are sea eagles and birds of prey that nest nearby and can sometimes be seen soaring overhead. The retreat is 4.5 miles from the bustling village of Broadford, where there are shops, a pharmacy, a hospital with A&E department, a post office with ATM machine, eating places, including restaurants and take-away shops, a petrol station, supermarket and buses that can take you to different parts of the island.

The retreat has an ensuite toilet (with basin) in the double bedroom. The bedroom contains three wardrobes, a vanity unit and bedside tables, with bedside lamps. There is a separate shower room and toilet opposite the second bedroom. The second bedroom is a twin room with 2'3" x 6' single beds, both with good mattresses and furnished suitably for adults or children, with a bedside light. Bookings for 4 guests are based on two adults sharing the double room and two sharing the twin room. If you book for 5 guests, we will leave one set of bedding for the sofa bed, which is 3’9” x 5’3”. The accommodation is not suitable for babies and toddlers and so we cannot accept bookings for very young children.

The open plan living room enjoys triple aspect windows with views down to the sea 250 yards away. There is plenty of seating, where you can relax with a book, or enjoy the views. There is a TV and a DVD player (with various DVD titles to watch) and also an iPhone 5 Speaker-dock.

The kitchen is fitted with a fridge, microwave and gas oven, toaster, kettle, crockery, wine glasses, utensils, pots, pans and bake and cookware, kitchen scales, an electric hand whisk, egg cups, oven gloves and tea towels, washing up liquid and dish cloths.

For a sunny day, there are many beautiful, scenic walks within a short distance from the retreat, including through the village and around the shore. Visitors must be aware of tide changes and it would be best to find out when high tide is if you intend to take a shore walk. Heaste is a perfect base for touring and exploring the Isle of Skye and Wester Ross. After a busy day of hiking or touring you can come home to relax inside or outside in the peaceful, enclosed garden. If you have any other questions about the area, please ask.

Please be aware that the retreat is in a crofting village and as such we do not allow pets in the caravan.

Interaction with guest

There is a number coded key box beside the front door so that guests can let themselves in and leave the key in the box when they leave (see photo). Guests will be given the new code when you book and will be able to contact us if you need anything during your stay, by sending a TripAdvisor message by phone or email so we can respond or be on hand if required. We like to greet guests if your arrival is in the check-in time slot, to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Hello Radoslav, thank you for your review. We provide two bags for rubbish in the kitchen and four other bins throughout the accommodation. You left four of the bins without rubbish in them. The information about bins, which you agreed to on booking, is in the listing because we have had Guests leave large bags and even polystyrene crates, along with rubbish from their wider trip. We accommodate disposal of rubbish generated during your stay.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Fiona (the owner) a message.

If Fiona (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
