The Famagusta District
Famagusta is a region situated on the South East coast of Cyprus. It boasts some of the best beaches on the island including Pernera, Paralimni, Protaras, Konnos Bay out to Ayia Napa, any of which can be reached in a short time by car. During the summer months, the region comes to life with tourists flocking to the area to relax on the beaches, sample the water sports, visit the historical churches and museums and experience the busy night-life of Ayia Napa. The season is a long one with superb weather from April right through to November.Home to the Kokkinochoiria (red soil) villages where the tasty Cyprus potato is grown, and the hundreds of windmills, Famagusta still has the feeling of stepping back to more traditional Cyprus times.
It’s hard to believe that only 20 years ago Ayia Napa was a sleepy fishing village with a population of 200. Named after a small church located in the centre of the village, Saint Panayia, meaning Mother of Christ, the village was transformed into a tourist resort after the invasion of Famagusta in 1974 which resulted in a huge loss of tourism for the island.
Contrary to popular belief, this cosmopolitan town isn't just a vast collection of pubs and clubs for the 18 to 30 crowd. In fact, there's something for everyone in this once sleepy fishing village. White sandy beaches set between un-spoilt coastal paths are the main attraction of this beautiful stretch of coastline and shallow turquoise waters provide a perfect setting for beach lovers.
The appeal of Ayia Napa is simply that it has so much to offer. Long stretches of sandy white beaches, hundreds of fantastic bars and restaurants and a multitude of attractions and activities for both day and night guarantee a fun-filled holiday for visitors of all ages.
Ayia Napa has easy access to the towns of Paralimni and Deryneia, and the resorts of Protaras, Pernera and Kapparis. Although Ayia Napa has supermarkets, restaurants and bars, we feel that a car is really essential for maximum pleasure.

We found the villa to be clean and very well equipped right down to the finest detail. Ron amd Sue were extremely helpful to us and ensured the villa was in immaculate condition and were only a phone call away if we needed anything, We found the villa to be very peaceful and quiet, the pool was cleaned twice during our 10 day stay. 15 minute walk to the centre of Ayia Napa. We have no hesitation in recommending this villa to future visitor and will hopefully be back again ourselves next year.

This is the first time I have booked a villa and through this experience I will do it again. I went to Cyprus for a wedding at the Nissi beach hotel and this villa was very close (5min walk). The villa itself sleeps 8 people comfortably, has a nice size pool and is kept very clean. The villa is close to shops/restaurants and walking distance to the beach. If you want a night out in Ayia napa it's only a 10 min taxi ride away which will cost around €8. I would definitely recommend this villa and plan to be back myself!
