Your accommodation is in a new but traditional Andalucian cortijo (farm house) named EL CAZADOR (The Hunter), set high upon a promontory within the eleven acres of Finca Los Tigres, a stone’s throw away from Hípica Aguamarga’s riding stables.

It is a stunning, spacious and luxurious villa, with an enticing mix of the modern and the traditional. It has a solar-panel heated pool of 13x3.5 m and terraces on 3 sides of the house. It is perfect for beach holidays, activitity trips, riding vacations or even skiing in the Sierra Nevadas, only two hours away.

El Cazador is not overlooked by any other property and, in fact, the view from the kitchen and main living area (at the front of the building) is a completely uninterrupted desert landscape with stunning hills all around and a glimpse of the sea. Therefore, our guests include many Honeymooners and people seeking a quiet holiday for writing, painting or just regenerating!

Surrounding the farmhouse are terraces made of traditional natural stone, leading at the front down to a large swimming pool measuring 13m x 3.5m. There is a BBQ one terrace up, perfect for watching your children in the pool .

This 4-bedroom, 2- bathroom whitewashed cortijo can comfortably accommodate 6 people in its 144m2 . It is an enticing mix of the traditional and the modern, with terra cotta tiles on the floors, slate terraces all around and underfloor solar/gas heating. Every effort has been made to render the house ecologically friendly, using double glazing and double walls with insulation to keep out the heat in summer and lock it in during the winter. We even placed the windows in accordance with the angle of the sun rays to allow more light in in winter and less in summer.

The master bedroom has a large double bed whereas the other double rooms have a wrought iron double bed and twin beds which can be easily converted into a king size bed. The small 4th bedroom contains a bunk bed /sofa combination which can sleep three people or remain set up as a sofa and a single bunk. All rooms have built in wardrobes, We provide sheets, pillows, pillowcases, duvets, duvet covers as well as cotton blankets for the hot summer nights.

Two fully equipped bathrooms, one with a bath and shower and the other with a shower, make life comfortable even when El Cazador is home to a large family. Towels of various sizes, plus shower curtains and bath mats are all provided.

The kitchen is large, spacious and open-planned, and connects to the main living/dining area. It is modern and equipped to a high standard with all the facilities you may need.

The main living/dining area is large with a family-sized dining table at one end (conveniently next to the kitchen), seating six people. A sofa and three armchairs can be found at the opposite end, along with a wood-burning Franklin stove to guard you against the occasional desert night chill during the winter months. There is also a television in the living area, complete with satellite TV, DVD player and a large collection of films, comedies and other DVDs for you to watch. We have satellite Internet.

Outside the house itself are terraces on various levels, ample car parking, a large private pool (13x3.5m), a BBQ area, a shaded terrace with a dining area seating 6-8, sun loungers everywhere and a big hammock.

Please note the Finca is built amidst the original scrub land of the Cabo de Gata desert and does not feature a manicured garden area. People with walking difficulties may find the area hard to negotiate. The pool has solar-assisted heating which helps to gain a few extra degrees. It is not heated to a constant high temperature.

The Andalucia region

Agua Amarga, on the Costa de Almeria, may be relatively remote. However, it has excellent links to the road infrastructure of this part of Spain, and is within easy reach of the closest city, Almería itself. The Costa the Almeria's remoteness has ensured that it has kept its traditional charm. The climate is superb with very little rainfall and endless sunshine. All along the coast are sandy beaches, some with volcanic black sand, some with Naturist beach areas. The Spaghetti Westerns were shot here and there are Western Parks with fun shoot-out shows (see our own website for details) The Moors ruled this part of Spain until 1492

and their castles and terraces are everywhere. Some castles have been opened to the public, e g the Alcazaba in Almeria. Every year the Andalucians celebrate their demise with Fiestas of Moors and Christians. An hour away are the famous caves and cavehouses of Las Cuevas de Almanzora. There is a lot to do in this are which does not involve just lying on a beach.

Agua Amarga

Agua Amarga is a small, unspoilt, fishing village of just 200 permanent inhabitants, located in the province of Almería in Andalucia, in the south eastern corner of Spain.

With its traditional white buildings and 800 metres of beach,overlooked on one side by the Faro (lighthouse) de la Mesa de Roldán, Agua Amarga is as picturesque a setting as you’ll find in Spain for a relaxing and memorable holiday.

Sailing opportunities abound for visitors of all experience, whether just for fun or if you are looking for something more ‘intense’. It is possible to hire motor boats, catamarans and small pedal boats in Agua Amarga.

There are Fiestas in our Market Town of Carboneras, especially on 12 October (San Antonio).

The Spaghetti Westerns were filmed close to Agua Amarga and there are Western Parks with fun shoot-out shows (see our own website for details) More recently the film "Sexy Beast" with Ben Kingsley was shot in the village.

The village is famous for its artists : painters and photographers have been coming here from all over the world for the scenery, the light and the exceptionally beautiful, rugged landscape.

"A wonderful, comfortable house in a great location"

Finca Los Tigres is a very comfortable, well equipped and superbly located house. The views are entrancing and the walking and swimming are a joy. We loved it so much we booked to return in September.

Very well appointed accommodation, beautifully cleaned and maintained. Wonderful location yet only a few minutes from the sea and the delights of a pretty little village. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and lots to see and do if you can tear yourself away from the sun terrace and pool. A truly delightful location and a wonderful holiday
