“Joy in the jungle” I celebrated Christmas at Casa Montezuma with my three adult children, surrounded by jungle, visited by coati mundis and raccoons, lizards and aguate, with the sound of the howler monkeys in the background. We were met by Donna when our bus arrived in Montezuma and given a very useful drive around the next day to orient us to the area. Throughout our holiday, Donna and Tito were always ready to help in any way they could, from pumping up bike tires to getting information and making calls for us. They've thought through what will make a person's stay convenient, including a cellphone for local use and a great wifi connection. The house functions beautifully, with a completely separate kitchen (so early risers don't wake the others sleeping in) that is well equipped for any kind of cooking you might want to do. We feasted on local fish, that you can purchase from the fisherman who lives a five minute bike ride away. The outdoor porches are great spaces for hanging out, reading, opening Christmas presents, watching the animals who come right up onto the porch . . . The bedrooms are comfortable; it's wonderful sleeping with the breeze blowing through the screened windows and the howler monkeys howling in the background. Although there are houses not that far away, you would never know it because the jungle around gives complete privacy. The beach at the end of the road is beautiful at any tide, but especially good for swimming at high tide. The water is amazingly warm; you can float around forever. We walked, biked, hiked, taxied, and went from Montezuma to Cabuya, from Mal Pais to Playa Carmen. A highlight was the hike to Cabo Blanco; we only wished we'd started earlier in the morning so that we could have had more time on the gorgeous beach there. I'm typing this looking out at blowing snow and a white world, thinking back on the warmth and color of those Casa Montezuma days. It was a wonderful time and I would highly recommend it.

“Amazing week in Manuel antonio!” Just got back from a one week stay at Casa 3 Palmas and loved every minute of it! I was on vacation with a group of friends and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Transportation both to and from San Jose airport was arranged for us prior to arrival (thanks Tom!) The unit was perfect!! We had plenty of space between the 2 bedrooms and living room area. The kitchen was spacious and included everything we needed to make meals at the house. The best feature of the house had to be having our own pool right out the back door! The unit is tucked away in the trees but still right off the main road which made for easy access to the beach and other attractions. The house manager, Tom, was extremely helpful. As I mentioned, he helped arrange for our transportation both to and from the airport. He also arranged for our group's two excursions which were ziplining and a sunset cruise. We ziplined with Canopy Safari and did the sunset cruise with Planet Dolphin. Both were great experiences and I would recommend them to everyone. We spent the rest of our time at the beach. We took the bus every day (285 colones or a little more than 50 cents each way). On the first day, Tom introduced us to Oscar who we went back to every day for chair and umbrella rentals. He was great! Finally, we had a maid, Erika, come in to clean every day. She was great and we really appreciated having her there! We had a great time on our vacation and can't wait to go back again!!!
