“Quiet location, vineyards and sunflower fields, modern comforts.” Three of us spent a week at Columbine. The cottage was faultless with every comfort including a swimming pool. Wine Cave, Artisan bread maker within a short distance. We had a very relaxing time in an area of outstanding beauty. Would definitely like to visit again.
“Excellent Gite, friendly and attentive owners” The Gite was excellent, spotlessly clean, homely with lovely welcome pack bread, cheese butter, tea, coffee, sugar and wine.
Sarah and Des were very friendly and offered very useful advice on places to see etc.
Sarah and Des's dogs are lovely. Good wi-fi access but might need to sit close to Sarah and Des's house at times, Good free sat TV if you want to keep in touch with news or favourite prog. The location is very tranquil. Saw owl in barn next to Gite, and during our stay on several occasions saw birds of prey. Definitely excellent place for a quiet retreat, we found sat nav very useful since we visited lots of towns and villages during our stay. Would recommend this Gite for a lovely getaway.
Colombine near Duras is perfect for tranquillity and escaping from the rat race. Set amidst rolling fields, woods and vinyards with an excellent pool and surround, the three bedrooms and two bathrooms and spacious living areas spell plenty of room for groups of six or that all important capacity for visitors if, like us, you are a couple on a long let (we stayed Jan/March) with visitors flying over from England.
Bergerac airport is only a 30 min drive away. Restaurants abound (in season) and Bordeaux a 90 min drive or train it from Marmande of Ste Foy La Grande (free station parking!).
Excellent base for Lot et Garonne and forays up the Dordogne. …

Lovely rural gite!
We had a fantastic stay in rural France. A lovely location, fantastic rustic property. The gite itself is well equipped with everything you need. It stayed cool in the heat - with a ceiling fan. We managed to watch some of the Olympics in the evening. There is wifi - you need to go nearer the main house. The swimming pool was large and refresing. We didn't dare take a dip on the cooler days but it was lovely in the heat. Loads of stunning towns nearby - and we even managed a trip to Bordeux. Thank-you Sarah, Des, ozzy and Harry! …
