“Fantastic week - beautiful area, wonderful house...highly recommend” We just returned from a wonderful week at Gites Gardes. We travelled with our three young boys ages 2, 4 and 6. Immediately upon arrival, the welcoming owners helped us set up the baby pool for our youngest son. Not only that, but Jo stayed with him while we unpacked our car and got things a bit settled. Within no time the boys were swimming and I must say that was the start of a swimming marathon! The boys went in no less than four times a day. The fact that it was heated was a huge bonus, and we didn't realize truly how wonderful this was until we went to a second house the next week without a heated pool. It really makes a difference! Even our two year old could sit on the steps and play for an extended period without getting cold. The weather was absolutely great and it was very hot, but even so, the slight extra warmth of the pool was much appreciated. The house itself is perfect for a vacation. Everything is on one floor, which makes it easy and one less thing to worry about with young kids. The rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated. The main bathroom/shower was large and we appreciated that there was another toilet and full bath in another room. The kitchen was well stocked, clean, and also spacious. We appreciated that they valued recycling and even had an extra trash can for you to use for this purpose. Perhaps one of our fav things about the house was the view. We sat outside with an amazing view of Monflanquin. Truly beautiful. It was a wonderful combination of feeling 'out in the middle of nowhere', but yet when we left the drive we were at the grocery store within five minutes and the mediaval town was not much further. Our boys loved all the small little critters around the property - lizards, frogs, beetles, etc. The swing set was an extra bonus for little ones, along with the badminton net. We had truly a wonderful week and would highly recommend this house to others. We would definitely return for a second visit.
