Idyllic mountain getaway
My wife and I used the property to take our children (then aged 6 and 9) for our first family skiing vacation. We found the property on a holiday letting website and had extensive contact with Jonathan prior to our departure. We dound him to be extremely helpful, easily contactable and always quick to respond to any questions we had. Jonathan provided us with contact details for an airport shuttle service so our journey from Geneva airport to the Chalet was stress free and excellent value.
Arrangements had been made for us to collect the key from a neighbour who was also helpful and friendly, providing us with useful information about Chamonix. The chalet is a good size and with 3 large bedrooms and 2 good sized bathrooms there was more than enough room for the 4 of us. The living room and kitchen were also perfectly adequate for a family of 4 and the balcony offered stunning views of the Alps.
Our children were booked into the local ski school and we were delighted to see that it was walking distance from our chalet. My wife and I then used the excellent bus service to access different parts of the mountain range. The skiing available in Chamonix really is second to none. The variety of pistes available was fantastic and my wife and i were able to travel to many different areas and were never bored.
The ski area where our children had lessons also benefitted from allowing us to ski right to the front door of the chalet - a lovely perk after a long day skiing!
The town of Chamonix itself is a typical mountain town with a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. Not speaking French was never an issue as the vast majority of locals spoke English fluently.
I would highly recommend this Chalet for families or a group of friends, regardless of their respective skiing ability. Jonathan was an absolute pleasure to deal with and we look forward to returning again in the near future. …
Wonderfull days at Poudreuse
We stayed at Chalet Poudreuse for a long weekend in January, 4 couples + 2 children (2yrs). The chalet may be difficult to spot from the outside, but inside it is very nicely done and you feel at home immediately. All rooms spacious with en-suite bathroom/toilet. Very large/nice communal areas on top-floor. Enjoying the outdoor jacuzzi with a beer after a full day of skiing is unbeatable.
The chalet is located 3min walking from the children's slope and 3min walking from the main cabin-lift. Le Tour is very small (only two restaurants and no supermarkets), but larger towns only 5-10min drive away.
We will definitely return. …
