“"I am in heaven!!!"” "I am in heaven," my wife said the first morning we were at the Kona View Estate. "Look how good my hair looks. Even it's happy to be here." We have been very fortunate to have visited all 50 of our States and have seen many foreign countries through cruises we have taken. But Kona View Estate is the best place we have ever stayed...It begins with co-owners Randy and atsumi, who live adjacent to the rental so they are there if you have any problems..The unit has a large bedroom with a master bath. There is a large living room that leads to a fully-equipped kitchen. Off the kitchen, there is a washer-drier...There is also a deck off the bedroom and living room and you sit there and look out at Kona bay. There is also a gas grill should you choose to cook out...Also, there is an infinity pool and hot tub right there on the property and we made use of both...Randy is also a great resource for information on places to see and eat on the Big Island...The unit is situated on a coffee plantation that Randy and atsumi own. On the first morning, there was a pound of their coffee waiting for us. And, there is nothing better than Kona coffee...This is a perfect place if you are looking for a restful, peaceful place to say. But, if you are looking to be close to a bigger town with places to shop and excellent restaurants, then you are a short drive to Kailua-Kona...Should we ever return to the Big Island (It's a long way from our home in Boston.), or should we have friends planning to visit this beautiful island, we will be sure to recommend Kona View Estate.

“Best View in Town” Have stayed many times at KBK because it has the best view from the lanai, best poke shop on the grounds, turtles, dolphins and whales out front and just two miles from the best snorkeling at Kahaluu Beach Park. The unit has everything you need for a pleasant stay right down to beach mats and ice chests.

“Scribner Stay” We had a wonderful trip and very much enjoyed our stay. The property is very well maintained, accommodations comfortable and well stocked (dishes, utensels, snorkel gear etc...) Wayne with Kona Sunsets was very helpful and accommodating. I have a vacation rental as well so I can appreciate the hard work that goes into it. The only thing I'd offer is the upstairs hall between the bedrooms could use painting, too many suitcase attacks but thats purely meant to be helpful not critical. We look forward to coming back!

“7 Minutes to Kona airport and 1,000 Feet above the Coastal Heat” This is an good option for visitors who want to live like the locals in a neighborhood conveniently situated 7 minutes driving time from the Kona airport and 1,000 feet above sea level (cooler on hot days!). The hosts who live upstairs rent out their first floor "ohana" unit for a very reasonable rate. Inside the unit is a king bed, private marble bathroom and shower, fully equipped kitchen (including full size refrigerator plus gas stove) and a porch entrance. Since the owners migrated from northern California five years ago they have embraced the big island's history and culture and love to share it with visitors if desired. They have also placed an extensive library of books and videos (playable on the dvd/vhs player along with cable TV)in the ohana to help the visitors plan from the many options tourists can explore. Colorful birds and geckos visit the property daily to make breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean a great way to start the day. This is not a "sanitized" hotel experience but rather an inexpensive way to set up a base from which to experience the island from a local's perspective using your rental car. Easy access to roads leading to island's top sites including coffee tasting & volcanic features.

“Just great” We enjoyed our 7 days here very much. So lively close to nature without closed windows and the outside shower made it to the paradies. Kathleen's help from booking to our leaving day was a great help. It is everything here what you need. Beachtowels and snorkeling facilities and a lot more. There is everything in the kitchen. “A perfect place to relax and enjoy island life” A very well appointed and comfortable Condo with great facilities and very easy access to the sandy beach. Our boys had to be dragged from the pool at the end of each day. We loved our staff and would readily return should we find ourselves on The Big Island again.

“Great island decor and location!” Excellent, well maintained, second floor location with picture perfect golf view from the wrap around lanai, very spacious and great Island style decor! The owners have outdone themselves, couldn't have ask for more. Easy walk to the King and Queen shops, Marriott and Hilton for shopping, restaurants and groceries. The saline pool was the perfect temperature and we enjoyed it on many occasions. Owners were great to deal with and check-in easy with their lock-box system. Perfect place to spend a week with our daughter; would rent again in a minute!

“Amazing condo, perfect location!” We recently returned from 8 nights at this beautiful condo; our stay could not have gone better. The condo had plenty of room for our family of 5 and was larger than we thought from the pictures. The condo had every amenity we could need or want including beach chairs, boogie boards, movies, and a full array of kitchen spices/helpful condiments. It was the perfect location for exploring all that the island had to offer - beaches, Kona, Place of Refuge and even the observatory at Mauna Kea were easy drives! After being out and about for our daily adventures however, we couldn't wait to return home and relax at the beautiful pool/club house, or just sit on our lanai and watch the ocean. -- We saw more whales from the condo's lanai than we did on our whale watching tour!! -- Peggy was extremely responsive throughout the entire process. Thank you, Peggy, for sharing your wonderful place with us!
